The kickback is a sudden reaction that happens when the
power tool is switched on and the disc gets jammed. The
rotating accessory kickback forces the power tool to rotate
in the opposite direction to the rotation of the accessory.
The kickback occurs due to an incorrect use of the power
tool or due to an improper working procedure which can
cause serious injuries to the user. Loss of control can result
in serious injury. To avoid the kickback, the following
precautions must be considered:
- Always use the auxiliary handle for maximum control
over kickback or torque during acceleration and start-up
of the angle grinder;
- Install the disc in the correct position and tighten it
firmly;
- Do not position your body in the area where power tool
will move if kickback occurs;
- When the disc gets stuck, switch off the power tool;
▪ Never put your hands near the disc. Keep your hands
away from the rotating parts;
▪ To avoid displacements or projections use a fixing
devices or a bench vice to ensure a safe performance.
Place/maintain the workpiece in a correct and stable
position;
▪ The outer diameter, thickness and bore of the disc must
be compatible with the technical specifications of the
angle grinder. Incorrectly sized discs cannot be
adequately secured and controlled;
▪ Always install the supplied disc guard. If necessary, the
disc guard should be replaced by one with a material of
equal resistance and with a protection angle of no more
than 180°;
▪ Never put down the angle grinder before the disc has
come to a complete stop. The disc may grab the surface,
making you lose the control of the angle grinder;
▪ Make sure that the ventilation slots are not clogged. Do
not place any objects over the slots;
▪ Accessories and workpiece may become too hot during
operation. Avoid touching them, they can cause severe
burns;
▪ Make sure that you don't damage the electrical circuits,
gas and water pipes when operating the equipment. Any
damage to these installations can cause fire, explosion,
electric shock or property damage;
▪ Avoid using the angle grinder on surfaces coated with
paints containing lead or other materials harmful to
health. Any contact or inhalation of dust may cause
allergic reactions and / or breathing disorders;
▪ Materials containing asbestos cannot be worked.
Asbestos is carcinogenic.
