Installation Instruction
•
The pump is suitable only for operation in dry rooms.
•
The pump location should be well ventilated, positioned horizontally on its mounting feet and should not
come in contact with other objects or installed in an area that is subject to explosion hazard.
•
Ensure the pump is placed on a firm and flat base with a suitable slip-free surface.
•
The pump should be operated below 1000m above sea level.
•
Kinks or bends in hose can affect pump performance. Inside hose diameter should be a minimum equal
to pump outlet outer diameter and its length should not exceed 10m.
•
Ensure that the supply voltage and frequency corresponds to the pump label.
•
Ensure the pump should be plugged in an outlet that connected to the circuit breaker for domestic use.
•
The pump does not include a separate power switch, to turn-off the pump the electrical cable must be
unplugged from the electrical outlet. Ensure there is nothing in place that can interfere with unplugging
the pump electrical cable.
•
Ensure that the power outlet used by the pump is properly earthed/grounded
•
The ground terminal is built into the power plug, so grounding is performed by plugging the power plug
into the power outlet..
•
Ensure that the operating air temperature is within the range -10°C to +40°C and the air humidity does
not rise above 90%.
•
The diaphragm linear pump is designed for pumping air only. The following media must not be allowed
to enter the air intake: dangerous gas mixtures (e.g. combustible gases, explosive gases or vapours),
water vapour, any liquids, aggressive gases, or traces of oil or oil mist and grease.
•
Pumps should be operated within specified pressure range only. Performance range specification may be
found on series datasheet on gd-thomas.com. Do not operate pump at zero pressure.
•
For pumps used to aerate water in aquariums, ponds or similar, avoid water entering the
pump by ensuring that the pump is installed above the water level.
•
Do not place the pump with the risk to be sank under the water.
•
For proper grounding, do not defeat the ground pin.
•
Do not plug or unplug with wet hands.
•
Do not carry the pump by holding the electrical cable.
•
The electrical cable should not be tightened up when the pump is installed.
•
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by trained service personnel in order
to avoid a hazard.
Operating Procedure
1.
Install and plumb the pump properly.
2. Hold the plug of the power cord and plug into a power outlet to start operation.
For pumps incorporated into equipment, follow the operating procedures of the equipment.
Maintenance Instruction
•
Any maintenance work to linear pump what is described within the table below must be
undertaken by trained service personnel.
•
The power plug must be disconnected from the power outlet during any cleaning or
maintenance.
•
Once the plug is disconnected, make sure the pump has stopped and allow time for the
pump to cool down
•
The rubber piping may stick due to the aging deterioration, so beware of falling down when
forcibly taken off.
•
In case that the component parts are dropped inside the pump during the maintenance
work, operate the pump after taking the component parts out completely
•
Wear the protective glasses during the maintenance work.
•
In the trial run to have the pump cover open, operate the pump after temporally fixing the
cover plate. Do not take off the ground fixing screw during the maintenance work.
•
Use the genuine parts for the maintenance work.
•
Ensure to install the noise absorbing net before covering the housing, and be careful not to
pinch it with the housing.
•
Please note that all of the gaskets can be displaced, flipped and pinched may cause the
water to enter the pump.
•
Do not place the pump on the rugged place when flipped over or removed the housing.
•
Do not remove the component parts which fix the ground wire.
