5. Trolleys have universal wheels for mounting on flat or tapered beams.
6. Visually inspect components for distortion, wear, and damage during installation.
Replace any item indicating damage, distortion and/or excessive wear.
7. Ensure stops are securely installed at both ends of the beam prior to using trolley
8. After trolley installation ensure the side plates are vertical.
9. With hoist installed, verify that hoist is centered below trolley.
10. To move an unloaded hoist/trolley, push on the hoist load chain.
11. To move a loaded hoist/trolley, push on the load or the hoist load hook shank.
12. Raise a load equal to the capacities of the hoist a few inches (cm) off the floor and
test the trolley travel.
13. When operating the trolley keep load as close to the floor as practical.
4.0 OPERATION
This hoist has been designed for lifting and lowering by means of pulling the handle or
hand chain by hand under normal atmospheric condition of the workplace. However,
since dealing with heavy loads may involve unexpected danger, all safety rules must
be followed and strictly enforced.
Safety Working Environment:
1.
The operator must have a clear and unobstructed view of the entire travel
area before operating the hoist. When not possible a second or more persons
must serve as scouts in the nearby area.
2.
The Operator must check the entire travel area is safe and secure before
operating hoist.
3.
Operator must always be aware of hazards associated with the lift, hazards in
the surrounding area and personnel working in the general area where the
hoist is being used.
4.1 Chain fall operation
Face the hand chain wheel side of the hoist, pull the hand chain clockwise to raise the
load and pull the hand chain counterclockwise to lower the load. The clicking sound of
the pawl when the load is being raised indicates normal operation. Ref ASME B30.16
for further information.
4.2: Lever Hoist Operation
Place the selector switch on the handle in the middle position when without load, then
the load chain can move freely (freechain). Pull the load chain by hand to position the
bottom hook. Once hook is properly attached to load, pull on end ring (dead end side)
to take out any slack in the chain and create slight tension. Place the selector switch in
the up position and pull handle clockwise to raise or create tension/pull. Place the
selector switch in the down position and pull handle counterclockwise to lower or
remove tension.
5.0 INSPECTION
Pre-Shift - Frequent and periodic inspections should be performed on equipment in
regular service. Frequent inspections are visual examinations performed by operators
or service personnel during routine operation. Periodic inspections are thorough
inspections performed by designated personnel trained in inspection and maintenance.
