■
Use power tools only with specifically designated
battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may
create a risk of injury and fire.
■
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from
other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws or other small metal objects, that can make a
connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the
battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
■
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from
the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,
additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from
the battery may cause irritation or burns.
■
Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or modified.
Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable
behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
■
Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or
excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature
above 130 °C may cause explosion.
■
Follow all charging instructions and do not charge
the battery pack or tool outside the temperature range
specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at
temperatures outside the specified range may damage
the battery and increase the risk of fire.
SERVICE
■
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts. This
will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
■
Never service damaged battery packs. Service
of battery packs should only be performed by the
manufacturer or authorized service providers.
AUGER SAFETY WARNINGS
■
Never allow children, persons with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge, or people who are unfamiliar with these
instructions to use the product. Local regulations may restrict
the age of the operator. Children should be adequately
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the product.
■
Do not use the product in bad weather conditions,
especially when there is a risk of lightning. Store the
product safely indoors.
■
To reduce the risk of electrocution, never use the
product near any buried electrical power cables. Contact
with or use near buried electrical power cables may
cause serious injury or electric shock resulting in death.
■
To reduce the risk of explosion, never use the product
near any buried gas lines, including water lines and
pipes. Contact with or use near buried water or gas lines
may result in bursting of water lines and explosion from
gas lines which may cause serious injury or death.
■
Wear full eye protection at all times while operating the
product. Wear a full face mask or fully enclosed goggles.
Normal spectacles or sunglasses are not adequate
protection. Objects can be thrown at a high speed at any time
and may rebound from hard surfaces toward the operator.
■
Wear non-slip safety footwear while using the product.
■
Use heavy-duty gloves while installing or removing
auger bit, they have sharp edges.
■
Inspect the product before each use. Check for the correct
operation of all controls. Check for loose fasteners.
Make sure that all guards and handles are properly and
securely attached. Always keep the handles dry and
clean. Replace any damaged parts before use.
■
Make sure that the auger bit is properly installed and
securely fastened.
4
■
Replace the auger bit if it is cracked, bent, or damaged in
any way. Ensure that the auger bit is properly installed and
securely fastened. Failure to do so can cause serious injury.
■
Do not modify the product in any way, as this may
increase the risk of injury to yourself or others.
■
To avoid personal injury, do not start the product when
the auger bit is not in contact with the ground.
■
Do not touch the auger bit when the product is turned on.
■
Brace the product properly before use. The product produces a
high output torque and without properly bracing the tool during
operation, loss of control may occur resulting in personal injury.
■
Hold the product by the insulated gripping surfaces only,
because the auger bit may contact hidden wiring. The auger
bit contacting a live wire may make exposed metal parts of
the product live and could give the operator an electric shock.
■
Maintain a firm grip on the handles with both hands
while using the product. Keep the auger bit away from
the body and below waist level.
■
Do not use the product with the handle above waist level
to avoid serious chest injuries when the product hits a
hard object.
■
Apply pressure only in direct line with the auger bit and
do not apply excessive pressure. The auger bit can
bend, which can cause loss of control or break the auger
bit, which results in personal injury.
■
Always start drilling with tip of the auger bit in contact
with the ground. The auger bit may bend if allowed to
rotate freely without contacting the ground. The product
has only one speed setting. Never operate the product at
a higher speed than its maximum speed rating.
■
If the auger bit jams, turn off the product immediately.
■
Immediately turn off the product and remove the battery
pack in the event of an accident or breakdown. Do not
operate the product again until it has been fully checked
by an authorised service centre.
■
To reduce the risk of injury associated with contacting
moving parts, always turn off the product, remove the
battery pack, and allow both to cool down. Make sure
that all moving parts have come to a complete stop:
●
before servicing
●
before clearing a blockage
●
before checking, cleaning, and working on the product
●
before changing accessories
●
after striking a foreign object
●
whenever leaving the product unattended
●
whenever performing maintenance
●
whenever the product starts to vibrate abnormally
■
Injuries may be caused, or aggravated, by prolonged use
of the product. When using the product for prolonged
periods, ensure to take regular breaks.
■
Operate the product only in temperatures between 0 °C
and 40 °C.
ADDITIONAL BATTERY SAFETY WARNINGS
■
To reduce the risk of fire, personal injury, and product
damage due to a short circuit, never immerse the product,
battery pack, or charger in fluid or allow fluid to flow inside
them. Corrosive or conductive fluids, such as seawater,
certain industrial chemicals, and bleach or bleach-
containing products, etc., can cause a short circuit.
■
Charge the battery pack in a location where the ambient
temperature is between 10 °C and 38 °C.
■
Store the battery pack in a location where the ambient
temperature is between 0 °C and 20 °C.
