4.3 Individual adjustment of the lock
Adjustment of the Release Cord (Fig. 5 and Fig. 6)
The Release Cord must be shortened individually for the patient. To do this,
loosen the two set screws on the handle, adjust the length of the locking
cable and retighten the set screws hand-tight. The locking cable must be
guided through both channels attached to the handle (Fig. 5 C). Attach
the handle to the outside of the socket. Make sure that the locking cable
is not under tension when the joint is locked. At the same time, it must be
ensured that the available pulling distance is sufficient to trigger the lock. If
the release cable is correctly set, the user can unlock the knee joint for sitting
down via the manual operation (Fig. 6).
Temporarily deactivating the lock (Fig. 7)
The user is able to walk with a polycentric knee joint at times, e.g. under
supervision, otherwise he needs a locked knee joint. Remove one of the two
lugs on the handle of the release cable to allow the handle to be hooked
in when unlocked (Fig. 7). Make sure that the locking bolt cannot engage
when the unit is hooked in. Thus, the knee can be used temporarily as a
polycentric knee joint.
Temporarily deactivating the lock (Fig. 8)
The user is able to walk with a polycentric knee joint at times, e.g. under
supervision, otherwise he needs a locked knee joint. Hold the lock open with
the locking cable and screw in the securing screw E.
4.4 Individual adjustment of the extension stop (Fig. 4)
To adjust the extension stop individually during fitting, turn screw B with a
hexagonal screwdriver. To ensure an earlier extension stop, the screw should
be turned in clockwise.
After adjusting the extension damper, check that the lock continues to
engage independently in full extension.
