13.5 Troubleshooting Guide
Problem
LEDs on control pad do not light
when buttons are pressed.
PIN entry does not activate cover
mechanism, but red LED on the
control pad is on when buttons are
pressed.
Cover system does not operate or
operates intermittently.
1. Check to make sure the circuit breaker is on.
2. If the circuit breaker is on and the LEDs still don't light up,
contact your local cover dealer for service.
1. Enter valid PIN. If PIN is valid, the green LED will flash as
COVER or UNCOVER is pressed. If PIN is not valid, the red
LED will be on as COVER or UNCOVER is pressed; re-enter
PIN.
2. Verify that power to the auto-shutoff board is on. Power
to auto-shutoff board will be on if two green LEDs on the
auto-shutoff board are flashing. Typically, the auto shut-off
board is located in an enclosure by the pool cover electric
motor.
3. Turn power off for ten seconds before turning power back on.
Enter valid PIN.
4. If PIN entry still does not activate the cover, contact your local
cover dealer for service.
Troubleshooting for Qualified Service Personnel ONLY
Verify that the auto-shutoff board is working properly prior to
troubleshooting the CoverLink system.
1. Check for secure wiring connections at the circuit breaker,
auto-shutoff board, control pad, and motor.
2. If all wiring is good, continue to step 3.
3. Reboot the system by turning the system power off to the
control pad and auto shut-off board. Leave it off for 30
seconds, then turn the system power back on.
4. Disconnect the control pad from the auto-shutoff. Short the
auto-shutoff wires together (black to yellow should cover the
pool and black to green should uncover the pool).
If the auto-shutoff works, go back to Troubleshooting Guide.
If the auto-shutoff does not work, see document 600356.
