Infusion times
The optimal infusion times largely depend
on the type of tea used and on personal
taste.
We recommend the following times
Green tea : 2-3 minutes
White tea : 2-3 minutes
Oolong tea : 3 minutes
Black tea : 5-8 minutes
Herbal tea : 5-8 minutes
∙ Once the required steeping time has
elapsed, pull up the fi lter rod. Caution:
The rod will be hot.
∙ Take off the hot tea fi lter and place it
carefully on a heat-resistant surface.
Place the main lid onto the container and
push down on the lid lock to secure it.
Power cord wind-up storage
The wind-up power cord storage under the
base facilitates limiting the length of the
power cord during use and makes it easy to
store the appliance.
Descaling
∙ Depending on the water quality in your
area, lime deposits may build up on the
heating element. It is advisable to remove
any such deposits at regular intervals.
∙ Any warranty claim will be null and
void if the appliance malfunctions
because of insuffi cient descaling.
∙ A mixture of 0.5 litres of water and 40 ml
of vinegar essence is suitable.
∙ Pour the descaler in.
∙ Switch the appliance on and let the
solution reach boiling point.
∙ Leave it to take effect for a short period.
∙ To clean the container after descaling,
rinse thoroughly with clean water.

∙ During descaling, ensure suffi cient
ventilation and do not inhale any vinegar
vapours.
∙ Do not pour descalers down enamel-
coated sinks.
Cleaning and care
∙ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is
disconnected from the power supply and
has cooled down completely.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the water container and the base
with liquids and do not immerse them. Do
not clean under running water.
∙ For cleaning, a slightly damp, lint-free
cloth may be used.
∙ Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions, and do not use hard brushes
for cleaning.
Disposal
