7.5.1 Masking tape
Take care when working with masking tape as there is a risk of cutting yourself.
Only undamaged masking tape can be installed. You must exchange the masking tape if it is
buckled, cracked or kinked. The masking tape for your linear unit is defined by its length on your
linear unit. Perfect functioning can only be guaranteed if the length of the masking tape is ideal.
7.6 Shutting down/dismantling
Before starting any work on the linear unit, any electric drives used must be prevented
from accidental switching on.
If a linear unit is installed in an oblique or vertical position, the guide carriage drive must be
secured against slipping during dismantling. The system is to be freed from any loads or forces.
Following a collision, the toothed belt, the track rail guide and trolley have to be exchanged –
even if there is no visible damage. Spare parts information is to be taken from the spare parts list
for the relevant linear unit type.
Following a collision, the tapped spindle, guide nut, track rail guide and carriage have to be
replaced – even if there is no visible damage. Spare parts information is to be taken from the
spare parts list for the relevant linear unit type.
7.7 Disposal and return
The linear unit must either be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way according to the
applicable policies and regulations, or returned to the manufacturer.
The manufacturer reserves the right to charge for disposing of this linear unit.
7.8 Cleaning
Clean outer surfaces of the linear unit with a clean, lint-free cloth.
Do not use cleaning agent containing solvent. Cleaners that contain solvent corrode the material
and can damage it.
