7.2 Installation

7.2.1 General information

Before installation, the corrosion protection at the shaft ends of linear units with drives must
be removed.
The scope of protection of this linear unit from water has been specified with a protection
level number of 0 (IPX0), i.e. there is no protection from water.
No cleaning agents may be allowed to enter the bearings.
When installing transmission elements such as clutches or motor adapters, blows to the shaft
ends or impacts to the drive pins must be avoided, in order to prevent the bearing becoming
damaged or imbalanced.
The linear unit must be secured on a level surface with a minimum accuracy of 0.20 mm/m
The linear unit must not be tensioned during installation.
Recommended deflection limit value for moving loads (dynamic deflection): 0.05 %
of the linear axis length (VST length), but a maximum of 0.5 mm.
Sufficient fixing points between the linear unit and the base must be chosen for the applica-
tion.
Loads to be moved by the linear unit must be correctly and adequately secured for the appli-
cation.
The high intrinsic weight of components and the linear unit generates dangers for persons
and property.
When installing a motor on the linear unit, take care to align the motor shaft and drive shaft
axially.
Cables and lines going out of the linear unit must be secured outside the application using
strain relief in compliance with standards.
Installation rule for all sizes of design variations of the RK DuoLine S Clean
(S = spindle versions)
The linear unit must be fixed to a base (1) only at the guidance section (2).
Other methods of fixing must be avoided.
Other methods of fixing must be avoided.
