5.2 Special safety instructions

Work with the linear unit may only take place in accordance with these instructions.
•
The device may only be opened by authorized specialist personnel. In the event of a defect in
the linear unit, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer or send in this linear unit
for repair.
•
An electric drive may only be connected to this linear unit by the appropriate technical staff,
in observance of the local connection conditions and regulations (e. g. DIN, VDE).
•
Electrically operated attachments may only be connected to this linear unit by the relevant
trained specialists, in compliance with the local connection conditions and regulations (e.g.
DIN, VDE).
•
Motor current monitoring for enhanced safety: monitoring the motor current enables faults
to be detected immediately and to prevent hazards originating from the system.
•
Wear the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during work.
•
Persons remaining in and reaching into the danger zone of the linear unit when in operation
is forbidden.
•
Unauthorised modifications or changes to the linear unit are not permitted for safety reasons.
•
If the linear unit is installed in an oblique or vertical position, the guide carriage must be se-
cured to prevent slipping during work (installation, dismantling, maintenance, servicing).
•
The transverse forces, torques and speeds specified by RK Rose+Krieger GmbH for this linear
unit must not be exceeded. In dynamic operation, this must be considered for the version: Fx

•
The movement of the linear axis must be limited using technical means in such a way that the
guide carriage is prevented from running into the limit positions.
In the event of damage (e.g. power failure), check the operation of all safety-related elements
(controllers, limit switches etc.).

Following a collision, the toothed belt, track rail guide and carriage have to be replaced – even
if there is no visible damage. Spare parts information is to be taken from the spare parts list
for the relevant linear unit type.
