3. THE RS-60 FRONT PANEL

This chapter describes the information provided by the illuminated indicators on the front
panel of the RS-60.
The panel features 3 illuminated indicators:
OK indicator
HIGH indicator
ON indicator
The ON indicator remains lit up while the RS-60 is connected to the mains. When the unit is
disconnected, the ON indicator goes out and the other indicators begin to flicker.
The RS-60 has two programmable warning levels: pre-alarm and alarm, each level with a
different limit. The pre-alarm limit is equal or inferior to the alarm limit. If the sound pressure
level measured by the sensor is lower than the pre-alarm limit (CORRECT level), the (green)
OK indicator will stay on and the (red) HIGH indicator will stay off. If the sound pressure level
exceeds the pre-alarm limit but does not reach the alarm limit, the (green) OK indicator
comes on and goes out every second for 125 milliseconds while the (red) HIGH indicator
remains on.
When the sound pressure level exceeds the alarm limit, the (red) HIGH indicator stays on
and the (green) OK indicator goes out.
Sound level CORRECT
The indicators may be updated at a programmable periodicity of between 2 and 180
seconds (evaluation time).
The RS-60 detects whether the sensor is disconnected or has been manipulated. While
either of these anomalies persists, the OK and HIGH indicators remain on.
