Causes and prevention of kickback
Kickback is caused by a pinched, bound or misaligned saw blade in the kerf. The blade stalls and the saw lifts up
and jumps back towards the operator. It's the result of misusing the saw, incorrect operating procedures or
conditions. Kickback can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below:
Do not use dull or damaged blades. Dull or improperly set blades produce narrow kerfs causing excessive friction
and blade binding.
Maintain a firm grip with both hands on the saw and position your body and arm to allow you to resist kickback
forces.
If the blade is binding or when interrupting a cut for any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw motionless in
the material until the blade comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the saw from the work while the
blade is in motion.
If restarting the saw in the workpiece, center the saw blade in the kerf and check that the saw teeth are not
engaged into the material.
Support large panels to minimize the risk of blade pinching. Large panels tend to sag under their own weight.
Blade depth and bevel adjusting lock levers must be tight and secure before making a cut.
Maintenance and repair
Maintenance, check and repair are only to be made by specialists according to the valid
regulations of the respective country.
When repairing only use identical replacement parts.
Trouble shooting
1. Machine will not turn on
• Check power cord for damages. Replace if necessary.
• Check brushes for excessive wear. Replace if necessary.
• The running time of the saw exceeded 30 minutes without letting it cool down.
• Check trigger switch. Replace if necessary.
2. Power loss
• Check brushes and replace if necessary.
• Extension cord is too long. Limit cord length to 15 meters or less.
• Extension cord is too thin. Use a 15 amp or larger.
3. Blade guard sticks
• Remove the guard and clean it.
• Guard must move freely. Use light grease on contact surfaces.
• Check guard return spring for sufficient tension. Replace if spring is weak.
• Check guard for distortion. Replace if distorted or damaged.
