Do not use cooking oil of any kind or
quantity in the griddle. Cooking oil can
catch fire and cause serious bodily injury
or death and damage to property. Instead,
lightly oil food prior to placing in heated
griddle.
m WARNING: Do not use griddle without the
Gourmet BBQ System cooking grate(s).

m WARNING: Always use heat-resistant
barbecue mitts or gloves when handling
or cooking on the Gourmet BBQ System
m WARNING: Do not attempt to remove a
hot griddle from the grill.
m CAUTION: Do not drop the cast-iron
griddle—it will break.

USE AND CARE

Prior to first use: Hand wash new griddle and grate(s)
thoroughly with a mild dishwashing liquid. Dry thoroughly
with soft cloth or paper towel.
Follow all DANGER, WARNING AND CAUTION statements
provided in your Weber Grill Owner's Guide.

• Follow the instructions in your Weber
Guide to set up grill for direct grilling.
• FOR GAS BARBECUING: Place grate(s) into grill
with griddle insert and preheat for approximately 15
minutes.
• Lightly oil foods prior to placing in the hot griddle.
• Evenly distribute food over griddle surface; avoid
clustering foods. Close the grill lid. Use grill tongs
to turn your food. CAUTION: Using a metal spatula
on the griddle surface can cause damage to the
porcelain-enamel finish.
• Do not remove the griddle until it is cold. Use care
when lifting the griddle out of the grill to avoid spilling
remaining food/liquid.
• Hand wash griddle with warm soapy water after use.

may be used. CAUTION: Do not use metallic pads/
brushes or harsh abrasive soaps as these will
damage the porcelain-enamel finish. Thoroughly dry

• Replace brush if any loose bristles are found on
cooking grate(s) or brush.
