wenden, auf keinen Fall Chemikalien oder Wasser.
3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Der Verstärker PA-1200 ist zum Aufbau einer ELA-
Anlage zur allgemeinen Beschallung konzipiert. Die
verschiedenen Schraubklemmen (22 + 23) ermög-
lichen es, je nach Bedarf unterschiedliche Lautspre-
cherkombinationen anzuschließen (siehe Abb. 3-
9). Durch die fünf Eingangskanäle sind vielfältige
Anschlußmöglichkeiten vorhanden.
Außerdem läßt sich der Verstärker zusätzlich mit
dem MONACOR-AM/FM-Tuner PA-1200R oder
dem MONACOR-Kassettenspieler PA-1200T aus-
statten. Dazu wird die Abdeckblende (1) abge-
schraubt, so daß in den Einschubschacht das ge-
wünschte Modul eingesetzt werden kann.
4 Aufstellen des Verstärkers
Beim Aufstellen ist darauf zu achten, daß die Lüf-
tungsschlitze nicht verdeckt werden und Luft durch
das Gerät zur Kühlung zirkulieren kann.
Soll der Verstärker in ein 19"-Rack eingeschoben
werden, wird der MONACOR-Montagerahmen PA-
1200RM benötigt. Dabei sollte ober- und unterhalb
des Verstärkers im Rack Platz frei bleiben, damit eine
ausreichende Belüftung sichergestellt ist. Damit das
Rack nicht kopflastig wird, muß der Verstärker in den
unteren Bereich des Racks eingeschoben werden.
5 Verstärker anschließen
Alle Ein- und Ausgänge nur bei ausgeschaltetem
Gerät anschließen!

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug which
is marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol
, or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the let-
ter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the let-
ter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
3 Applications
The amplifier PA-1200 has been designed to con-
struct a PA system for general PA applications. The
different screw terminals (22+23) allow the connec-
tion of various speaker combinations according to
requirement (see figs. 3–9). Due to the five input
channels various connection facilities are available.
Furthermore, the amplifier can additionally be
equipped with the MONACOR AM/FM tuner PA-
1200R or the MONACOR cassette player PA-1200T.
For this screw off the cover plate (1), so that the de-
sired module can be inserted into the compartment.
4 Placing of the Amplifier
While installing take care that the ventilation slots are
not covered and that there is an air circulation inside
the unit.
If the amplifier is to be inserted into a 19" rack, the
MONACOR mounting frame PA-1200RM is neces-
sary. Above and below the amplifier there should be
enough space, so that a sufficient ventilation is guar-
anteed. To avoid a heavy top load of the rack, the

Die Anschlußmöglichkeiten für die Lautsprecher sind
in Abb. 3-9 dargestellt. Entsprechend der Gesamt-
impedanz sind 4-Ω- oder 8-Ω-Lautsprecher an die
Schraubklemmen (22) anzuschließen. Dabei ist auf
die richtige Einzel- bzw. Gesamtimpedanz der Laut-
sprecher und auf die richtige Polung der Lautspre-
cher zu achten (Plus- und Minusanschlüsse, wie in
Abb. 3-9 gezeigt). Der Plusanschluß der Lautspre-
cherkabel ist immer besonders gekennzeichnet.
ELA-Lautsprecher mit 70-V- oder 100-V-Audio-
transformator an die Schraubanschlüsse (23) an-
schließen. Den Umschalter IMPEDANCE (21) in die
entsprechende Position schieben (70 V oder 100 V).
Es können bis zu drei Lautsprechergruppen getrennt
an die Schraubklemmen SP 1 bis SP 3 und COM (23)
angeschlossen werden (Abb. 5). Die einzelnen Grup-
pen sind dann mit den Schaltern SP 1 bis SP 3 oder
ALL (4) einschaltbar.
Bei ELA-Lautsprechern mit Audiotransformator
(Abb. 5) darf die Gesamtbelastung durch die Laut-
sprecher nicht mehr als 120 W Sinus betragen,
sonst wird der Verstärker überlastet. Er kann dann
beschädigt werden.
5.2 Eingänge

Die XLR-Buchsen sind symmetrisch ausgeführt,
können aber auch asymmetrisch angeschlossen
werden. Dazu am XLR-Stecker die Pins 1 (Mas-
se) und 3 verbinden. Die Anschlußbelegung ist in
Abb. 10 dargestellt.

5 Connecting the Amplifier
Only connect all inputs and outputs with the unit
switched off!
5.1 Speakers
The connections for the speakers are shown in figs.
3–9. According to the total impedance connect 4 Ω
and 8 Ω speakers to the screw terminals (22). Watch
the correct individual resp. total impedance of the
speakers and the correct polarity of the speakers
(positive and negative connections, as shown in figs.
3–9). The positive connection of the speaker cables
is always especially marked.
Connect PA speakers with a 70 V or 100 V audio
transformer to the screw terminals (23). Slide the se-
lector switch IMPEDANCE (21) to the corresponding
position (70 V or 100 V). Up to three speaker groups
can separately be connected to the screw terminals
SP1 up to SP3 and COM (23) (fig. 5). The individual
groups can then be switched on with the switches
SP1 up to SP3 or ALL (4).
With PA speakers with an audio transformer (fig. 5)
the total load by the speakers must not exceed
120 W , otherwise the amplifier is overloaded. It

5.4 Zusätzliche Gongtaste
Um den Gong auch auf Distanz zum Verstärker aus-
lösen zu können, sind Anschlüsse für einen Taster
vorhanden. Den Taster mit den Klemmanschlüssen
CHIME REMOTE (17) verbinden.
5.5 Stromversorgung
Erst nachdem alle anderen Komponenten verbun-
den sind, den Verstärker über die Netzbuchse (20)
mit dem beiliegenden Netzanschlußkabel an eine
Steckdose (230 V~/50 Hz) anschließen.
Soll bei einer Stromunterbrechung des 230-V-
Netzes der Verstärker weiterlaufen, kann als Netz-
ausfallsicherung der Verstärker über die Buchsen
DC 24 V (14) an einen 24-V-Akku angeschlossen
werden. Der Ein-/Ausschalter POWER (13) ist dann
ohne Funktion, d. h. nach dem Anschluß des Akkus
ist der Verstärker immer in Betrieb.

output signal can additionally be picked up, e. g.

5.4 Additional chime button
To be able to activate the chime remotely from the
amplifier, connections for a momentary push-button
are available. Connect the momentary push-button
with the terminals CHIME REMOTE (17).
5.5 Power supply
Only after connection of all components connect the
amplifier via the mains jack (20) with the enclosed
mains cable to a socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
If in case of a power failure of the 230 V mains the
amplifier should continue to operate, the mains fail-
ure measure of the amplifier can be connected to a
24 V rechargeable battery via the jacks DC 24 V (14).
The power switch (13) is then out of function, i. e.
after the connection of the rechargeable battery the
amplifier is always in operation.
