- Move the disk close to the rim by means of the button 12-1 and then lever 12-6.
IMPORTANT – with this operation, the two arms are moved together. Make sure therefore
that the lower arm is in idle position, fully down.
- Once the preset distance has been achieved ( a distance of 2-3 mm is advisable between
the rim edge and the bead-breaker disk), release the button and lever to stop hori-
zontal movement.
5 • Breaking the top bead (fig.13)
- Preload the bead breaker disc using control 2 (the tyre should be pressed down by
about 5 mm).
- Start disc penetration (control 1) and then start wheel rotation (pedal 3), while at the
same time lowering the bead breaker disc a little at a time (control 12-2).
- Perform at least one complete revolution to break the bead.
It is best to grease the rim bead during rotation.
- Return the bead-breaker unit upwards. With this command, bead-breaker disk pene-
tration is also reset
6 • Lower bead-breaker positioning (fig. 15)
- Raise the upper bead-breaker unit from idle position to operating position by means
of the lever 12-3
- NOTE – do not bring horizontally closer because when the upper arm comes closer so
does the lower arm.
- a distance of 2-3 mm is advisable between the rim edge and the bead-breaker disk
7 • Lower bead breaking (fig. 15)
- Pre-load the bead-breaker disk by means of the control 12-3 (pre-loading is recommen-
ded with tyre crushing by about 5 mm).
- Operate the disk penetration control 12-5 and then start wheel rotation (pedal control
3) while at the same time lowering the bead-breaker disk control 12-3
- Complete at least one full turn to achieve bead-breaking. It is best to grease the rim
bead during rotation.
- Return the bead-breaking unit down. With this control, bead-breaker disk penetration
is reset.
8 • Positioning the tool (fig. 16/17)
- Move the tool head into the working position (control 9-3).
- It may be useful to press the tyre down to make room for the tool.
- Release the tool by pulling block 23 towards you (A).
- For correct tool positioning, the insert 3 must be against the edge of the rim in the point
where the vertical wall starts (C).
- Press the block 2 to fix the tool position (D).
9 • Engaging the top bead (fig.18)
- Maintaining the pressure of the bead breaker disc on the tyre, create enough space to
allow the demount tool to be rocked.
- Using control 12-7, rock the demount tool.
- It is important to rotate the turntable slightly to facilitate engagement of the bead.
- For easier bead engagement, it might be very helpful to use the bead breaker disc on
the underside of the tyre 20a
