Immediately disconnect the mains plug from the
socket
1. if the unit or the mains cable is visibly dam-
aged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled
personnel.
G
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the
plug.
G
For cleaning the housing only use a dry, soft
cloth; never use water or chemicals. For cleaning
the plastic panes in front of the LEDs, you may
also use a mild detergent. Before cleaning, dis-
connect the mains plug from the socket.
G
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the unit is used for
other purposes than originally intended, if it is not
safely installed, if it is not correctly connected or
operated, or if it is not repaired in an expert way.
If the unit is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the
environment.
4 Installation / Setting Up
To prevent heat accumulation inside the unit,
always position the unit in such a way to ensure
sufficient air circulation during operation. Never
cover the air vents of the housing.
WARNING Install the unit safely and expertly.
When installing it at a place where
people may walk or sit under it, addi-
tionally secure it [e. g. via a safety
rope attached to the eyebolt (7); fas-
ten the safety rope in such a way that
the maximum falling distance of the
unit will not exceed 20 cm].
Use one of the mounting brackets or both brackets
(1) to install the unit, e. g. with a stable mounting
screw or a support for lighting units (C hook) on a
cross bar. Alternatively, set up the unit on its own:
Fold out the brackets underneath the unit and use
them as a stand.
To align the unit or to adjust the brackets,
release the two locking screws (2) of the brackets,
make the adjustment, then fasten the locking
screws again.

5 Control Connections

For operating the unit with a DMX controller or for
the master/slave mode, interconnect the units via
the XLR connections (6). For connection, special
cables for DMX signal transmission are recom-
mended (e. g. cables of the CDMXN series from "img
Stage Line"). For cable lengths exceeding 150 m, it
is recommended to insert a DMX level matching
amplifier (e. g. SR-103DMX from "img Stage Line").

5.1 Operation with a DMX controller

1) Connect the DMX input to the DMX output of the
DMX controller.
2) Connect the DMX output to the DMX input of the
following DMX-controlled unit; connect its out-
put again to the input of the following unit, etc.
until all DMX-controlled units have been con-
nected in a chain.
3) To prevent interference in signal transmission:
In case of long cables or a multitude of units
connected in series, terminate the DMX output
of the last unit in the chain with a 120 Ω resistor
(> 0.3 W): Connect a corresponding terminating
plug (e. g. DLT-123 from "img Stage Line") to the
output jack.

5.2 Master / slave mode

In the master / slave mode, multiple RGBL-430DMX
can be operated synchronously in the operating

unit) will control the other units (slave units). Con-
nect the units in a chain, just like for the DMX mode
(see above); however, do not connect the DMX
input of the first unit in the chain.

6 Power Supply

For power supply of the unit and of additional
RGBL-430DMX, PowerCon
available.
Note: Never connect or disconnect a PowerCon
while voltage is applied. Always make the PowerCon
nection first, then make the connection to the mains
socket. Always disconnect the mains plug from the socket
before disconnecting the PowerCon
For power supply of the unit, first connect the mains
cable provided to the blue PowerCon
After connecting the PowerCon
turn the plug clockwise until it engages. Then con-
nect the mains plug of the cable to a socket
(230 V~/ 50 Hz).
To disconnect a PowerCon
the safety latch on the PowerCon
plug counter-clockwise and remove the plug from
the jack.
