Please advise your clients to avoid con-
tact with recently treated skin as much
as possible. Recently treated areas of
skin should also be
protected against contamination and
O
UV radiation and sunlight
O
and additional irritants, such as
swimming pool or sauna visits,
O
abrasive or chemical peels,
O
hair removal at the treated areas or
O
self-tanning lotions
O
should be avoided in the first two to
three days after the treatment of the
client.
2.4
Contraindications and side
effects
The following contraindications and side
effects are the result of careful analysis
of clinical literature on micropigmenta-
tion. If the person responsible for treat-
ment should have even the slightest
doubt that the safety of the client to be
treated cannot be guaranteed, for exam-
ple due to accompanying illnesses, the
treatment must be refrained from or
stopped immediately.

2.4.1
Contraindications
Permanent make-up treatment is not
permitted in case of the following condi-
tions:
Hemophilia or other blood coagulation
O
disorders
Current consumption of blood thinners
O
(e.g. acetylsalicylic acid, heparin, as-
pirin, warfarin)
Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus
O
Any form of active acne in the treat-
O
ment area
Dermatosis (e.g. skin tumors, keloids
O
or extreme inclination for keloid for-
mation, solar keratosis, warts and/or
moles) in the treatment area
Open wounds and/or eczema and/or
O
skin rashes in the treatment area
Scars in the treatment area
O
Systemic infections and infective dis-
O
eases (e.g. hepatitis A, B, C, D E or F;
HIV infection) or acute local skin infec-
tions (e.g. herpes, rosacea)
During chemotherapy, radiotherapy or
O
high-dosage
corticosteroid
(recommendation: less than 4 weeks
before the beginning until 4 weeks af-
ter the end of the therapy)
Up to 12 months after plastic surgery
O
in the treatment area
Up to 6 months after filler injections in
O
the treatment area
Allergy to topical anesthetics (local
O
anesthesia)
Under the influence of alcohol and/or
O
drugs
Pregnancy and lactation
O
Treatment of mucous membranes and
eyeballs is strictly prohibited.
The treatment must be terminated im-
mediately in the event of:
Excessive sensations of pain
O
Fainting / dizziness
O
In rare cases, the following problems can
be caused by the introduction of mi-
cropigmentation ink:
Color differences
O
Pigment loss
O
