Product overview

The body of the compressed oxygen cylinder is made of carbon fibre
reinforced plastic, steel or aluminium. The compressed oxygen
cylinder is equipped with a cylinder valve. The cylinder valve is
available with different connections.
The period of service depends on the volume of the compressed
oxygen cylinder and the breathing rate of the carrier.
2.2

Intended use

The compressed oxygen cylinder is used in approved closed-circuit
breathing apparatus (e. g. Dräger PSS BG 4). It provides the user with
an independent supply of breathable air in a harmful, contaminated or
oxygen-deficient atmosphere.
2.3 Approvals
Compressed oxygen cylinders with a valve are pressure vessels. They
were developed for use in closed-circuit breathing apparatus. They
meet the requirements specified in the Pressure Equipment Directive.
They have a design approval and were either tested individually or
through production monitoring by the notified body, TÜV Nord
(technical inspection authority).

Compressed oxygen cylinders must always be used with a
valve that is approved for the cylinder otherwise the approval
will expire.
