Functions common to all single-panel systems managed by the ECOTRONIC Tech controller
System Cooling Function (Collector and Hot water tank)
This function is dependent on the System cooling parameter value (Installer parameter, default 1=On).
During normal operation, if the hot water tank sensor S2 temperature is greater than the Tank maximum temperature
parameter value (Installer parameter, default 60°C) and less than the Hot water tank limit temperature parameter
value (Installer parameter, default 80°C) and if the solar collector sensor S3 temperature is greater than the
Collector temperature for system cooling function activation parameter value (Installer parameter, default 120°C),
the ECOTRONIC tech controller activates the solar circulating pump to cool the collector.
To signal this mode, the solar panel symbol will start flashing.
The function terminates when the solar collector sensor S3 temperature is less than the Collector temperature
for system cooling function activation parameter value (Installer parameter, default 120°C) - 2°C.
During normal operation, if the hot water tank sensor S2 temperature is greater than the Tank maximum temperature
parameter value (Installer parameter, default 60°C) and less than the Hot water tank limit temperature parameter
value (Installer parameter, default 80°C) and if the solar collector sensor S3 temperature is less than the Tank
maximum temperature parameter value (Installer parameter, default 60°C) - 5°C, the ECOTRONIC tech controller
activates the solar circulating pump to cool the hot water tank.
To signal this mode, the hot water tank symbol will start flashing.
The function terminates when the solar collector sensor S3 temperature is greater than the Tank maximum
temperature parameter value (Installer parameter, default 60°C) - 2°C.
Hot water tank Cooling Function (with solar collector overheating prevention)
This function is dependent on the Tank cooling parameter value (Installer parameter, default 0=Off); also, if the
system cooling function (collector and hot water tank) is activated, the latter has priority over the hot water tank
cooling function.
During normal operation, if the hot water tank sensor S2 temperature is greater than the Tank maximum temperature
parameter value (Installer parameter, default 60°C) and less than the Hot water tank limit temperature parameter
value (Installer parameter, default 80°C), the ECOTRONIC tech controller leaves the solar circulating pump on
to prevent solar collector overheating.
If the hot water tank sensor S2 temperature becomes greater than or equal to the Hot water tank limit temperature
parameter value (Installer parameter, default 80°C) and the solar collector sensor S3 temperature is less than
the Hot water tank limit temperature parameter value (Installer parameter, default 80°C) – 5°C, the ECOTRONIC
tech controller activates the solar circulating pump to cool the hot water tank.
To signal this mode, the hot water tank symbol will start flashing.
Hot water tank limit temperature Function
The solar circulating pump will be deactivated if the hot water tank sensor S2 temperature becomes greater than
or equal to the Hot water tank limit temperature parameter value (Installer parameter, default 80°C); in this case,
in addition to solar circulating pump deactivation, the ECOTRONIC tech controller must also close the shutter.
To signal this mode, the solar circulating pump symbol will go off, the shutter symbol will light up and the symbol
S2 inside the hot water tank will start flashing.
The function terminates when the hot water tank sensor S2 temperature is less than the Hot water tank limit
temperature parameter value (Installer parameter, default 80°C) – 2°C.
Solar Collector limit temperature Function
The solar circulating pump will be deactivated if the solar collector sensor S3 temperature becomes greater than
or equal to the Collector limit temperature parameter value (Installer parameter, default 140°C); in this case,
in addition to solar circulating pump deactivation, the ECOTRONIC tech controller must also close the shutter.
To signal this mode, the solar circulating pump symbol will go off, the shutter symbol will light up and the symbol
S3 above the collector will start flashing.
