All valid regulations and standards, as well as recognised rules of technology such as the
DIN VDE 0100 series and the technical connection requirements, must be observed,
particularly the following standards:
DIN IEC 60364-7-701 (DIN VDE 0100-701) Requirements for special installations or
locations – Locations containing a bath or shower
DIN IEC 60364-5-52 (DIN VDE 0100-520) Wiring systems
The LED strips may be installed only on a heat-conductive, smooth foundation.
The component must not be used for the following applications under any circumstances:
Outdoors
Underwater
In potentially explosive atmospheres
In swimming pools, saunas or steam baths
Exceeding the load limit required for the power pack is possible through an incorrect
combination of the system components. This can be the case if LED strips are expanded by
soldering. The component of the LIPROTEC system must not be used in the wrong
combination.
Intended use includes the reading and understanding these instructions and the observance
and following of all information in these instructions, especially the safety instructions.
Any other use is expressly considered not to be intended and leads to an expiration of the
warranty and liability claim.
2.2 Conditions for use
Make sure that the components are used only under the following surrounding conditions:
Temperature: -20 °C to +40 °C
Relative humidity for Bluetooth receiver, remote control, power pack and terminal
connections: 45 % to 85 %
Make sure that the scopes of protection according to DIN VDE 0100-701 are observed when
the components are used in bathrooms or wet rooms.
2.3 Basic safety instructions
2.3.1 Preventing severe and deadly injuries
Possibility of electric shocks when connecting the LED strip.
–
Make sure that all work is carried out only by qualified expert personnel.
–
Before connecting the components, make sure that the power pack's mains plug is
unplugged. Wait 10 seconds after unplugging the mains plug.
–
Use a professionally earthed protective contact socket for the power pack's mains
connection (230 V, 50 Hz).
–
Connect the LED strip or receiver only to a 24 V DC output and not directly to the
mains connection.
