Cutting injuries possible when unsuitable tools are used!
Shorten the LED strip only using sufficiently stable and sharp shears.

Malfunction due to LED strips that are not closed in a seal-tight manner.
Due to this lack of seal-tight closure, water could penetrate the LED strip. This can lead
to malfunctions.
Make sure the end cap is completely filled with sealing glue.

Make sure the end cap is connected with the LED strip in a gap-free manner.


5.1 Mounting the LIPROTEC profiles in wet areas

LED strips of the Schlüter ® LIPROTEC ES series correspond to protection class IP65
(protection against water jets from all directions) or IP67 (protection against temporary
immersion) and may thus be exposed temporarily to the effects of water (jets).
Proceed as follows during mounting if you would like to use LED strips of the Schlüter®
LIPROTEC ES series in LIPROTEC profiles in wet areas:
Place the installation boxes behind the sealing layer or outside of the wet areas.

Position the LIPROTEC profiles vertically in the wet area so that no water can collect

inside them and/or any penetrating water can drain away again.
Design the spreading discs to be approx. 2 mm shorter than the mounting profile.

Make sure that the gap is created at the lower end of the profile and is not closed off or

covered.
Penetrating water can drain away immediately through this gap, so it cannot

penetrate into insulation and seals.
Make sure that cable glands are sealed so that they are water-tight.


5.2 Mounting the LED strip

Proceed as follows to mount an LED strip:
Make sure that the foundation the LED strip is to be affixed to is heat-conductive and

smooth.
Determine the LED strip's required length.

Trim the LED strip only to the marked points (see Fig. B). Use sturdy, sharp shears for

cutting.
Seal the end of the LED strip so that it is water-tight. Use an end cap and the sealing

glue for this purpose. Squeeze a sufficient amount of sealing glue into the end cap (see
Fig. C, Step 1).
Slide the end cap over the end of the LED strip as far as the stop (see Fig. C, Step 2).

Make sure that the end cap is connected to the LED strip without any gaps.

