11. Lift the sander off the work before switching off.
12. Remember to keep your hands away from the mov-

DUST EXTRACTION

1. Disconnect the plug from the power supply.
2. Firmly push the plastic nozzle of the dust bag onto
the dust extraction port (10). (Fig. 8)
3. Before removing the dust bag, first disconnect the
plug from the power supply.
WARNING: For optimum dust removal, emp-
ty the dust bag when it is no more than half full. Do not
use the dust bag when sanding metal. The hot metal
particles could cause residual wood dust or the bag
itself to catch fire.
Cleaning the bag: Dismount and empty the dust bag,
tapping it gently to remove dust. On occasion, slip the
bag off of the frame and turn bag inside out. Brush dust
off of the lining using a soft brush.
4. A vacuum cleaner adapter can be used to connect
a household vacuum cleaner or workshop dust ex-
traction system to the sander.
5. An adapter is fitted into the dust extraction port (10).
STATIONARY USE (Fig. 9)
This machine can be mounted to a bench for stationary
use.
▪ Place the rubber pad (14) on the bench as indicated
by the inscriptions. Never mount the machine onto the
bench without the rubber pad.
▪ Turn the machine upside down and centre it on the
rubber pad. The mounting holes (3) shall face towards
the operator.
▪ Insert the mounting pins of the clamps (15) into the
mounting holes (3).
▪ Use the clamps (15) to fasten the machine onto the
bench.
▪ Tighten the clamps with the wing nuts by hand. Make
sure the clamps are tightened properly but do not over
tighten.
▪ Make sure the machine is securely fastened to the
bench before switching the machine on.
The machine can be set to continuous operation by
means of the lock-on button.

WARNING: Always ensure that the tool is
switched off and unplugged before attempting to per-

Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They
may vibrate loose over time.
Re-lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.

BRUSH REPLACEMENT

When the carbon brushes are worn out, both brushes
must be replaced simultaneously with genuine brushes
at SPARKY service centre for warranty and post-war-
ranty service.
CLEANING
For safe operation always keep the machine and its ven-
tilation slots clean. Regularly check to see if any dust or
foreign matter has entered the grills near the motor and
around the switches. Use a soft brush to remove any
accumulated dust. Wear safety glasses to protect your
eyes whilst cleaning.
If the body of the tool needs cleaning, wipe it with a soft
damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used.
WARNING: Never use alcohol, petrol or other
cleaning agent. Never use caustic agents to clean
plastic parts.
WARNING: Water must never come into con-
tact with the tool.
IMPORTANT: To assure product safety and reliability,
repairs, maintenance and adjustment (including brush
inspection and replacement) should be performed by
certified service centres or other qualified service or-
ganisations, always using genuine replacement parts.
