Cleaning and Maintenance

General Cleaning
Prepare a cleaning solution of 1to 2 tablespoons of baking soda mixed with warm water. Usea
sponge or soft cloth, dampened with the cleaning solution,to wipe down your freezen
Rinsewith clean warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, ammonia, chlorine bleach, concentrated detergents,
solventsor metal scouring pads. Some of these chemicals may dissolve, damage and/or discolor your
freezer.
Door Gaskets
Clean door gaskets every three monthsaccording to the instructionsdescribed above in General
Cleaning.
Gaskets mustbe kept clean and pliable to ensurea proper seal.
Petroleumjelly applied lightly on the hinge side of gaskets will keep the
gaskets pliable and ensurea good seal.
Power Interruptions
Occasionally there may be power interruptions due to thunderstormsor other causes. Removethe
power cord plug from the AC outlet when a power outage occurs. When power has been restored
after a prolonged outage, inspect all food for spoilage. Clean the inside of the freezer.
Vacation and Moving Care
Forlong vacationsor absences, unplug the unit, empty food from freezer andclean the door gaskets
according to the General Cleaning section.Propdoor open,so air can circulate inside.
When moving,alwaysmovethe freezer vertically.Do not moveunitwhen ina horizontalposition,
aspossibledamageto the sealedsystemcould occur.
WARNING: When handling, moving, using or cleaning this refrigerator, be careful to avoid
damaging refrigerant tubing. Tubing damage may allow flammable refrigerant gas leakage,
which can result in personal injury.
