Possible causes of error:
Alkaline error: ordinary glass electrodes become sensitive to alkaline materials with pH
value higher than 9.
Acid error: with a real pH value less than zero, obtained values used to be higher.
Dehydration: false results. You can not make the measurements.
Temperature: pH measurement changes with the temperature, it can be corrected
though system of internal temperature compensation equipment.
Safety
pH-meters have to be used by qualified people, they should know the equipment and
its use.
Do not place the equipment in areas near heat sources (burners, torches...) or expose
directly to sunlight, etc.
When pH-meter is not being used, put always protector device in the output BNC (1.3)
to avoid that circuit is opened and damages to electric components. This way you also
avoid dust and humidity.
BNC output should be kept clean and dry.
In order to protect the pH-meter and guarantee correct measurements, always check the
electrode/s connections on the back before making the measurement.
Once finished working we recommend to unplug the equipment because electric com-
ponents in the adapter has a small power consumption which means premature aging of
equipment, possible accidents due to heat production as well as an unnecessary waste of
energy, etc.
For any cleaning manipulation, checking or replacement of components (ex. Fuse
replacement) is essential shutdown and unplugged the equipment.
Do not try to repair it by yourself, you will lose the warranty and cause damages in the
operation as well as injuries to people (burns, injuries...) and damages to the wiring.
Do not let water in the control panel, even if it is adequately insulated. If for any reason
you suspect that there is water or any liquids in it, unplugged the equipment.
pH-meter has a Schuko wire; it have to be connected to grounded current.
Manufactured according to European Directives about electric safety, electromagnetic
compatibility and safety in machines.
8. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
