Functional description
Broad input voltage range
The broad input voltage range provides you with flexibility in
connecting solar modules. You can use the space you have
available to optimum effect and at the same time reduce
installation costs.
Solar module protection
Voltwerk Three Level (VTL) Technology reduces leakage
currents, among other effects, which helps protect the solar
modules as well as other electrical components in the
photovoltaic system. This means you can use Voltwerk VS
series string inverters as transformerless inverters in PV
systems with special solar modules such as thin-film
modules (please check with the module manufacturer).
Maximum Power Point
The yield of the photovoltaic system is increased when the
string inverter is optimally calibrated with the solar modules.
The system operates most efficiently at the Maximum Power
Point (MPP). All string inverters make use of MPP tracking.
This ensures that the system yield is optimised according to
the momentary irradiation conditions. This function
continually tracks and adjusts the optimum operating point in
the curve of the solar power system.
Cooling concept
The Voltwerk PowerCool cooling concept causes the inverter
to still reach its nominal capacity at an ambient temperature
of +50 °C. It is only above +50 °C that the inverter may
reduce its output (derating). The inverter switches the

installed fan
at high temperatures so that the electronics are
cooled and protected. The cooling concept prevents the
power electronics from ageing prematurely.
DC switch disconnector
The string inverters are fitted with DC switch disconnectors.
This switch disconnects the power exclusively from the
power unit of the string inverter. The solar generator cables
and the DC connections can continue to conduct electricity.
