The automatic switch-off is not intended as a substitute for removing the
plug from the mains power! This is merely intended to reduce the fire haz-
ard if you forget to switch off the iron!

Self-cleaning function
1) Fill the water tank to the "MAX" marking .
2) Insert the plug into the mains power socket .
3) Move the temperature control 8 to the "MAX" position .
4) Set the steam control 3 to maximum steam power .
5) Allow the steam iron to heat up until the temperature control lamp 7 goes out
and then lights up again .
6) Hold the steam iron horizontally over a suitable container .
7) Press the self-clean button w and keep it pressed . Move the steam iron back
and forth a little . Steam and boiling water will flow from the steam exit holes in
the sole of the iron q . Any impurities that may be present are flushed out .
8) Release the self-clean button w as soon as all of the water in the water tank is
used up .
9) Dry the sole of the iron q thoroughly . To do this, move the sole of the iron q
back and forth several times over a towel or an old piece of material .
10) Allow the steam iron to cool down before placing it in storage .
