10.2. CLEANING AND DISINFECTION

Clean the upholstery with warm water and a wasing-up liquid. Remove
spots with a sponge or a soft brush. Rinse with clear water and let the components
dry.
Do not use any aggresive cleansing agents, solvents or hard brushes, etc.
No wet-cleaning. Components are not machine washable. For disinfec-
tion, water-based agents shouldbe used. The manufacturer's instructions for use
must be observed.
Before disinfecting, the pads and handles must be cleaned. Plastic parts,
frame parts as well as chassis and wheels can be cleaned with a mild detergent.
Dry thoroughly afterwards.

11. RE-USE

The product is suitable for re-use. Features and functions must not change in a
way that could endanger patients or other persons within the product's life cycle.
The product can be used for a period of 4 years, if it is used properly and that the
service and maintenance instructions are observed. It should be clearly pointed
out, however, that the product is reliable far beyond this defined period, if it is
cared for and maintained appropriately.
In cases of re-use, the affected product must first be throughly cleaned and disin-
fected. Subsequently, the product must be examined by an authorized specialist
to check the conditions, wear and possible damage. Any worn and damamged
components as well as components which do not fit or are not suitable for the
user must be replaced.
If a product is to be disposed of, all components of the product must be disposed
of properly in accordance with the applicable environmental protection regula-
tions in the respective country.
