8.1 Troubleshooting
Trouble or fault
The power tool doesn't start.
The power tool doesn't start

Possible cause
Electronics initialization in progress
(takes up to 1 second after plug-
ging in) or the electronic restart
safety interlock has been activated
after an interruption in the electric
supply.
Interruption in the electric supply.
The supply cord or plug is defec-
tive.
The control switch is defective.
Generator in sleep mode
The carbon brushes are worn.
A fault has occurred in the tool.
The power tool is too cold.
A fault has occurred in the tool.

▶ Switch the power tool off and

appliance and check whether it

the carbon brushes replaced if
necessary.
▶ Apply a load to the generator
by connecting a second power
consumer (e.g. worklight).
▶ Have the parts checked by a
trained electrical specialist and
replaced if necessary.
▶ Have the tool repaired by Hilti
Service.
▶ Bring the tip of the drill bit
or chisel into contact with the
workpiece and allow the power
tool to run under no load until it
reaches the minimum operating
temperature.
▶ Have the tool repaired by Hilti
