It is recommended that a qualified service technician install your dryer.
Two people are required for the installation of this product.
Please read the following instructions carefully before starting to install the
dryer. These instructions should be retained for future reference.
Remove the doors from all discarded appliances such as dryers to avoid the
danger of a child suffocating.
MINIMUM CLEARANCES
When installing the dryer the following minimum clearances apply: • Sides - 2.25" • Rear - 1.5" ° Top- 2" ° Front - 0"
GENERAL WARNINGS
Donot install the dryer on a carpeted floor. The dryer must not be installed or stored in an area where it will be exposedto
water and/or weather. The dryer area is to be kept clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable
vapors and liquids. The area around the dryer should be kept free of lint.
Dryersinstalled in residential garages must be elevated 18 inches ( 46 cm ) abovethe floor
WARNING - Toreduce the risk of fire this appliance must be exhaustedto the outside.
Thedryer must not be exhaustedintoany gas vent,chimney,wall, ceiling,or concealedspace of a building. If the dryer is installed
in a closet or tightly sealed room, provisionsshould be madefor at least 18 square inches of ventilation area. Air openings
measuringa minimumof 3 x 3 inches shouldbe providedatthe top and bottomof the closet door. Ordinarily, I ouvereddoorswill
satisfythe ventilationrequ_rements.Donot allow storageor any other materialsto obstruct ventilationopenings.
Never use plastic or non-metal flexible duct,
This can kink, reduceairflow causing service problems,and presents a potential fire hazard.
Use 4" diameter rigid metal exhaust duct,
Minimizethe length of the duct and the number of elbows. Securejoints with duct tape. Do not use screws or other
fastening deviceswhich extend into the interior of the duct.
Clean out previously used exhaust duct,
Replace kinked or crushed sections. Be sure exhaust hood flap opens and closesfreely.
If flexible duct must be used, use only the type with a stiff metal wall. Do not kink or crush the duct.
Donot use flexible duct with a thinfoil wall.
The exhaust duct should end with an exhaust hood with a swing out damperto preventback drafts and entry of wildlife. Never
use an exhausthood with a magneticdamper. The hood should have at least 12 inchesof clearancebetween the bottom of the
hood and the ground or other obstruction.The hood openingshould pointdown. Never installa screen overthe exhaust outlet.
If exhaustductwork mustrun through an unheatedarea,the duct should be insulatedand slope slightly down towards the
exhaust hood to reduce condensation build-u p.
Inspectand cleanthe interiorof the exhaust system at least oncea year. Disconnect e lectricservice priorto cleaning. Check
the gas line on gas dryers anytimethe dryer is moved.
MOBILEHOME INSTALLATION
The installation of the dryer in mobile homes must conform to the Manufactured HomeConstruction and Safety Standard,
Title 24 CFR,Part 32-80 {formerly the FederalStandardfor Mobile HomeConstruction and Safety,Title 24, HUD(part 280),
1975} (for the United States),or CSAStandardsZ240 (for Canada).
When installing a dryer in a mobile home, provisionsfor anchoring the dryer to the floor must be made.
All mobile home installations must be exhaustedto the outside with the exhaust duct termination securely fastened to the
mobile home structure, using materials that will not support combustion. The exhaust duct may not terminate beneaththe
mobile home.
ELECTRICAL WARNIN
The power cord kit purchased bythe consumerfor use with this dryer must be ratedfor 240Vmin30A,fitted with closed loop
terminals and marked for use with clothes dryers.
To Prevent unnecessary risk of fire, electrical shock or persona! injury, a ll wiring and grounding must be done in
accordance with local codes,Or in the absence of local codes,with the National Electrical Code,ANSl/NFPA 70, or the
CanadianElectrica! Code'CSAC22:1.

This dryer is grounded through the neutra! conductor to the applianceframe by a green grounding wire or brass strap.If used
in a mobile home or if local codes do not permit groundingthrough the neutral, removethe green groundingwire or brass strip
from the terminal block (center stud) and the ground screw. Then usethe ground screw to ground the dryer in accordance
with
local codes. When installed in a mobile home a four-conductor powerCordmustbe used. See section B for instructions,
(MCEmodels). A 240 volt, 60 HzAC, approvedelectrica! service fused through a dedicated 30 amperefUSeor circuit breaker
(MCGmodels), A 120 volt, 60 HzAC,approved electrical service with a 20 amperefuse or circuit breaker is required. The
plugmust be pluggedinto an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordancewith all local codes and
ordinances, Do not attempt to modify the plug Providedwith the appliance in any way.
If
a power cord is not used and the electric dryer is to be permanentlywired, the dryer must be connected to a grounded
metal,permanent wiring system; or an equipment grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected
to the equipment grounding terminal.
GASWARNINGS
Use only Natural or LP (Liquid Petroleum) gasses.
Gasdryersare equippedwith a burnerorifice for operationon naturalgas. Conversion kits (PartNumber63-6766)are available
through your local dealer. If the dryer is to be operatedon LP (Liquid Petroleum)gas, it must be converted by a qualified service
technician for safe and proper performance. This dryer uses an automatic ignition system to ignite the burner. There is no
constant burning pilot.
The installation must conform with local codes, or in the absence of local codes, with the National FuelGasCode,ANSI
Z223.1/NFPA 54, or the CanadianNatural Gasand PropaneInstallation Code,CSAB149.1.
The National Fuel GasCoderequires that an accessible,approvedmanual gas shut-off valve be installed within 6 feet of the
dryer. Additionally a 1/8" N.P.T. (National Pipe Thread)plugged tapping, accessible for test gauge connection, must be installed
immediately upstream of the gas supply connection to the dryer.
The dryer must be disconnectedfrom the gas supply piping system during any pressure testing of the system.
Checkgas line on gas dryers anytime the dryer is moved.
Do not re-use old flexible metal gas line. Flexible gas line must be design certified byAmerican GasAssociation (CGAin
Canada). Note: Any pipe compound used must be resistant to the action on any liquefied petroleum gas.
No other fuel burning appliance should be installed in the same room or closet as the dryer.

Users of this appliance are hereby warned that the burning of gas can result in low-level exposureto some of the listed
substances, including benzene,fromaldehydeand soot, due primarily to the incomplete combustion of natural gas or liquid
petroleum (LP)fuels. Exhaustducts should be kept free of obstructions and properly exhausteddryers will minimize exposure.
Disconnect e lectric power before servicing to reduce the risk of electric shock,
Do not contactcontro!boardswhileappliance iSenergized. The contro I board, water va!ve, and motorare intentionally not
grounded and may presenta risk of electric shock during servicing.
