8 • Cleaning and maintenance
8.1 • Maintenance of the ventilation unit
Always make sure that the appliance is disconnected before performing any maintenance. Either
remove the power cord from the wall socket or disconnect the fuse. Measure if the tension has
been removed.
Recommended maintenance:
verify on a yearly basis whether there is any pollution of the interior housing of the ventilation unit
and/or the motor blades.
• Disconnect the ventilation unit from the power grid. Unscrew the central screw in the cover
plate and remove the cover plate.
• Disconnect the ventilation ducts.
• Remove the motor unit by loosening the 4 clamping clips with a flat-head screwdriver.
The motor unit can now be taken out of the ventilator housing. Be careful not to touch the
electronics on the inside!
• Clean the fan by using compressed air. Never clean the motor unit with water and never
submerge it into water or any other cleaning agent.
• The fan housing can be cleaned with a wet cloth. Make sure that the housing is dry enough
when starting up the fan again, preventing dust particles to stick to the fan housing.
• Reassemble the motor unit and put the cover plate back.
• Reconnect the ventilation ducts and the power and turn the system back on again.
