·
Having carried out the checks listed in the 'pre start' section, you may start the engine.
The Belle Group BWR-Series Hand-Guided Rollers are ¿ tted with a centrifugal clutch; this allows the engine to run at idle without
driving the Hydraulic pump.
As the engine speed is increased the clutch will engage and the engine will drive the Hydraulic Pump to send the hydraulic
power to drive the drums, and to drive the vibration mechanism as well. To avoid any damage to the centrifugal clutch, move
the throttle lever quickly from L to H position. For correct operation, the engine speed should be set to maximum during the
compaction operation
·
Avoid operating the machine on a fully compacted, hard, or non-yielding surface. Otherwise, the bearings and other
mechanical components will be damaged, and the life of the machine will be greatly reduced.
·
When working on a steep slope, pay extra care in operating the machine so that the machine may not collapse or fall down.
Always work up or down the slop. Do not work across the slope.
·
When the machine is going reverse, make sure not to stand behind the Operation Handle. Always walk along the Operation
Handle and face toward the direction of travel.
·
Lifting
Where it is necessary to use lifting equipment to position the BWR, make sure the lifting equipment has a WLL (Working Load
Limit) suitable for the machine's weight (see speci¿ cation chart on page 5 or the machine number plate.) Attach suitable
chains or slings ONLY0to the lifting point Provided at the center of the machine (One-Point Hook) or at each corner of the
machine (Lifting Eyes).
·
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation on a vehicle.
Make sure to lock the Handle and use proper slopes of suf¿ cient width, length, and strength on loading to and unloading from
the vehicle.
The Operation Handle may move suddenly and irrationally during the loading and unloading. Do not stand
CAUTION
close to the operation handle to avoid any injury.
Apply the parking brake, and tie the machine ¿ rmly to the vehicle during the transportation.
Maintenance
The Belle Group Hand-guided Roller, BWR-Series are designed to give many years of trouble free operation. It is, however, important
that the simple regular maintenance listed in this section is carried out. It is recommended that an approved Belle Group dealer carry
out all major maintenance and repairs. Always use genuine Belle Group replacement parts, the use of spurious parts may void your
warranty.
Before any maintenance is carried out on the machine, switch off the engine and disconnect the HT lead from the spark plug.
Always set the machine on level ground to ensure any À uid levels will be correctly read. Only use recommended oils (see chart in the
next page).
Make sure that the Operation Handle is securely locked during the maintenance and/or repairs.
Servicing the Engine
Service the engine according to the engine manufacturer's speci¿ cations. Refer to the engine operation and maintenance manual.
Note: When the Maintenance Cover has been removed, ensure that all Bolts are securely fastened when re-¿ tting.
Maintenance: Every 8 hours or daily
1.
Check for loose bolts and nuts, retighten if necessary.
2.
Check and clean the air ¿ lter element, re-lube the element in accordance with the engine
manufacturer's recommendations. If operating conditions are unusually dusty and severe,0
¿ lter element cleaning should be done more frequently.
Maintenance: Every 50 hours or weekly
1.
Check for the tension of Drive Belt
1a. Loosen four bolts, which ¿ xes the Pump Bracket, and turn the Adjust Bolt until proper tension
is achieved. The belt should deÀ ect by 5mm at the center between Centrifugal clutch and
pump pulley.
1b. Tighten four bolts at the Pump Bracket. When the belt is worn out or cracked, renew the belt.
2.
Adjust the clearance of Scraper
2a. Remove the Scraper, and wipe of all the dirt, mud, and asphalt.
2b. Re¿ t the Scraper to the Scraper Bracket, and ¿ x it with suitable clearance from the drum.
