Hint for application
When working with thin or small parts (e. g., boards for drawers), several
boards can be clamped together at the same time.
Hidden Dowel Joints
Guide bush:
Ø 13.8 mm
Straight bit:
Dowel cutters Ø 5, 6, 8, 10 mm
depending on the dowels used
See "Tool Specifications" for the working ranges.
The dowelling pitch of 32 mm complies with the furniture
standard.
Install and align template 12 for finger joints and dowels (FS 20 = acces-
sory) with angle 21 so that the recesses point to the front. Set adjust-
ment knob 4 to position "0".
Setting the Cutting Depth
Cutting depth equal to half the dowel length plus 1.5...2 mm. Set depth
stop and depth locking on router.
Select cutting depth smaller than the board width. Use suitable
dowel lengths.
Setting the Stop Screws 9
Only left stops are used for this type of joint.
Horizontally clamp a board so that it is flush with the front edge of the
base plate 16. Install template 12. Align board symmetrically below the
template 12. Fasten board with clamping bracket 2.

Remove template 12. Push upper left stop screw 9 to the
board and screw tight. Remove board. Place setting
gauge 13 on the base plate 16 and push against the
upper stop screw 9. Push front stop screw 9 to the right
against the setting gauge 13 and tighten.
Note: It is recommended to make a test joint to check the setting of the
dowelling equipment.
Marking and Clamping the Boards (see Fig.
Lay out boards. Mark front board on the inside with a; mark the other
boards sequentially with b, c and d. Mark associated edges from I...IV
(see Fig. D).
Associated edges are clamped on the left stop screws 9.

is visible. Ensure that the
edge to be machined is flush
with the front edge of the
base plate 16. Tighten clamp-
ing bracket 2.
The boards b and d
clamped vertically. The mark-
ing is visible. The edge must
be flush with the top of the
horizontally clamped board.
Tighten clamping bracket 2.
Observe square angles to ob-
tain a good quality and di-
mensional accuracy of the
joint. This can be checked
with a stop angle.
