5.3 Fume stack maintenance

Incrustations inside the fume stack compromise
optimal draft. When they reach a thickness of
5-6 mm, high temperatures and sparks may
cause them to catch fire with readily imagined
consequences for the flue and the home.
It is therefore advisable to clean the
flue at least once a year, or every 4000
kg of wood burnt (as specified in the

Removing the refractory material
Remove the upper locking bracket that aligns
the rear wall with the two corner pieces (A - Fig.
5.4a).
