6.3.4 Five-point belt

The rehab buggy can be equipped with a five-point belt. It additionally stabilises the pelvis and shoulders and pre
vents the user from sliding out of the seat. The buckle makes it easy to get in and out.
The optional five-point belt provides significantly stronger fixation, and therefore safety while sitting, than the lap
belt. It consists of shoulder harnesses with shoulder pads, the lap belt piece and the centre strap.
Operating instructions
Place the user in an upright, 90° seated position (if physiologically possible).
Ensure that the back is up against the back support pad (if physiologically possible).
Possible errors
The user does not sit upright in the seat.
If the positioning belt is too loose, the user can shift/slide out to the front.
During the installation/adjustment, the positioning belt is routed over parts of the seating system (e.g. over arm
supports or seat pads). This causes the lap belt to lose its retaining function.
Installing and adjusting the shoulder harness without padding (see fig. 24)
1) Pass the shoulder harness behind the padding around the back support and fasten the closure buckle (see
fig. 25).
2) Adjust the length on the belt closures. Do so by loosening the belt ends in the buckles, adjusting the length
and pulling them tight.

Installing and adjusting the shoulder harness with padding (see fig. 26)
1) At the upper edge of the back support, open the hook-and-loop closure on the padding (see fig. 27, item 1).
Push the padding slightly forwards.
2) Open the zips on the top and bottom of the padding (see fig. 27, item 2) and pass the shoulder harnesses
through the gap between the zips from the front.
3) Adjust the zip position to set the desired shoulder height.
4) Pass the shoulder harness behind the padding around the back support and fasten the closure buckle (see
fig. 25).
