General Guarantee
Terms and conditions
1. Product-Informationen
This stove is a quality product. It has been
constructed with regard to current technical
knowledge and has been carefully built using
standard good materials. As the stove is
technical equipment, special knowledge is
required for its sale, installation, and connec-
tion and for starting it up. Therefore, the
installation, connection and first start up may
only be carried out by a responsible specialist
firm (tile stove and air heating contractors)
under compliance with the existing regula-
tions.
2. Guarantee period
We provide the following guarantee under the
following terms and conditions – irrespective
of the retailer's obligations under the pur-
chase agreement -
5 year guarantee for Olsberg brand
stoves
calculated from the day of delivery to the first
end consumer, on
a) defects free, material properties and
workmanship suitable for the intended
use,
b) proper assembly
c) perfect function
of the stove and compliance with the per-
formances given on the rating plate when
connected to the prescribed working voltage
and when operated with the given type of
power or prescribed fuels.
We give a 2 year guarantee on all parts which
come into contact with fire, e.g. fire brick,
grates, baffles and inspection windows as
well as control elements such as handles and
door hinges, seals, pain, surface coating (e.g.
gold) and electronic components and mod-
ules.
In the case of parts or fitted components
which are subject to the two year guarantee
of these "General Guarantee Terms and
Conditions for Stoves and Heating Inserts",
the maximum guarantee period is 24 months
from the date they leave the manufacturer's
production site.
3. Lump sum travel fee
Following expiry of the 2-year guarantee
period, we charge a lump sum travel fee;
please refer to Item 6 of these "General
Guarantee Terms and Conditions for Stoves
and Heating Inserts".
4. Proof of purchase
The date on which the stove was handed
over must the verified by submitting a proof of
purchase such as a till receipt, invoice, etc.
We are not obliged to provide guarantee
services unless this verification is provided.
5. Exclusion of guarantee
We do not provide any guarantee for damage
caused due to transport or to fragile parts
such as glass, ceramics or similar, for dam-
age and defects to equipment or parts which
occur due to excessive loading, improper
handling and servicing and errors in the
installation and connection of the stove. This
also applies if the installation and operating
instructions are ignored or if replacement
parts and accessories are fitted which are not
included in our lists. If the equipment is inter-
fered with or modified by persons who have
not been authorised to do so by us, any
claims to a guarantee expire.
Due to slight differences in the thermal ex-
pansion of the tile firebrick and the glazing,
fine hairline cracks can appear in the glazing
of ceramic stove tiles. These hairline cracks,
as well as slight differences in the glazing
colour of individual piece due to the combus-
tion technique used do not equate to a reduc-
tion in quality according to the "Guidelines for
the construction of tiled heating and cooking
st
equipment", even for 1
class tiles. Thus,
these manufacture and material deviations
alone do not provide just cause for com-
plaints. Existing hairline cracks present when
the stove is heated but which cannot be felt
are a natural and e.g. unavoidable effect in all
enamels, as iron and enamel are two different
basic materials, whose expansions differ
when heated. Hairline cracks are therefore
not a reason for complaint.
6. Defects correction and repair
During the guarantee period we will correct all
defects free of charge which are verifiably
due to fabrication and/or material defects, if
the responsible specialist is notified of them
within this period without delay, however 2
days after they are determined at the latest. If
this notification is issued within the guarantee
period the defect will be corrected even after
the die guarantee period has expired.
The improvement shall take place from the
time of the defect notification within the first
year without the necessary ancillary costs
(travel and travelling time costs, freight and
packaging costs) being charged.
The guarantee service shall be provided in
such a way that defective parts are repaired
or replaced (at our own discretion) with per-
fect parts depending on the needs of the
individual case and free of charge. We shall
also decide about the type, extent and loca-
tion of the guarantee services at our own
discretion, whereby the equipment is usually
repaired at the place of installation; although
in exceptional cases it can also be carried out
within the premises of our customer service
workshop. Replaced parts become our prop-
erty.
The guarantee period will not be extended or
a new guarantee period started for repair of
the equipment or the replacement of individ-
ual parts. The respective statutory guarantee
service applies for parts installed during the
course of a subsequent improvement.
7. Deadline for defects correction
If the defect, which is clearly attributable to
our product, cannot be corrected by us within
a period of 6 months from the date of the
defects notification, because the defect can
either not be corrected or the defect correc-
tion requires an unreasonable expense for us,
the end consumer can either demand that a
new stove be supplied or that the purchase
price be reduced or the contract cancelled,
within a period of 4 weeks, calculated from
the time at which we refuse to correct the
defect for one of the above reasons. This will
be handled by the specialist firm which sup-
plied the stove to the first end consumer.
8. Liability
All other or further claims, especially those for
damage incurred outside of the equipment,
are precluded – unless liability is a statutory
provision.
9. Customer service
If unjustified claims are made against of our
customer service any costs incurred shall be
billed to the end consumer.
10. Guarantee validity
The validity of our guarantee applies for the
territory of the Federal Republic of Germany.
It can be extended to other countries – by
appropriate arrangements.
11. Guarantee service factors
If guarantee services are claimed, the type
and fabrication number must always be
quoted (see rating plate)!
12. Wear
We would like to point out that the guarantee
does not cover normal wear, which this stove
is subjected to due to the heating process.
Parts, which are subjected to normal wear
are, for example
Seals (hardening due to thermal stresses
and thus slackening of the seal)
Surface coating (frequent cleaning or
cleaning using coarse cleaning agents;
see also the operating instructions)
Paint
discolorations
due
stresses or overstressing
Fire bricks, which can acquire surface
changes or cracks due to the heating
process, which, do not cause any im-
pairment to the function as long as the
fire brick retains its position in the com-
bustion chamber and are subjected to
normal stresses.
Glass panes(surface changes due to
differential thermal stresses above the
flames, e.g. soot lugs or sintered on flue
dust on the surface of the glass pane).
13. Note
We would like to point out that our customer
service centres are available at all times and
under the usual terms even after the guaran-
tee has expired. We reserve the right to make
technical modifications.
