Starting up
Before starting up the machine, make sure that:
-
The apparatus is well secured and the electrical connections have been carried out correctly.
-
The safety devices have been adequately connected.
-
No loose material or fitting remains surrounds the ventilator. If the ventilator has been mounted in a duct, make
sure it is clear of loose material.
-
The earth fittings are adequately connected.
-
The electrical safety devices are correctly connected, adequately adjusted and ready for use.
-
The wire and electrical connections inputs are correctly sealed and water-tight.
When starting up the machine, make sure that:
-
The propeller turns in the correct direction.
-
There are no abnormal vibrations.
-
If any of the electrical safety devices blow, the apparatus must be quickly disconnected from the mains supply .
The whole installation should be carefully checked before trying to start up the machine again.
-
After the first 30 minutes in use, check that the belt tautness is the proper.
Maintenance
-
Before servicing the ventilator, make sure it is disconnected from the mains supply even if it has
previously been switched off. Prevent the possibility of anyone else connecting it while it is being
serviced.
To ease the maintenance, the fan casing can be open
system (fig.2).
Before opening the fan casing ensure that the impeller is stationary.
ATTENTION: HEAVY ASSEMBLY. Depending on the size and orientation of the fan, foresee a
mechanical support to open the motor-impeller assembly.
-
The apparatus must be regularly inspected. These inspections should be carried out bearing in mind the
machine's working conditions, in order to avoid dirt or dust accumulating on the propeller, turbine, motor or
grids. This could be dangerous and perceptibly shorten the unit working life.
-
Whilst cleaning, great care should be taken not to tamper with the propeller or turbine.
-
All maintenance and repair work should be carried out in strict compliance with each country's current safety
regulations.
Do Not Use - high pressure water or steam cleaning apparatus to clean the unit.
-
The belt drive transmission comprising of the belt and pulleys must be connected under the correct tautness.
The transmission belt can be changed without removing the complete fan assembly from the ducting. Before
re-fitting a new belt, ensure that the two pulleys are aligned to eliminate vibration and excessive belt wear.
Ensure the correct belt tautness between the two pulleys is maintained. The belt tautness should be sufficient
so not to cause excessive "belt slip," yet it should not be excessive so as to cause excessive friction and
vibration
