Day Fill Bin - Theory of operation
The day fill bin can be filled twice a day. The fill amount is setup in the the Setup screen
(on page 13). If the fill auger motor runs for less than the time set in the Auger Alarm
Time (see Setup screen on page 13) the system goes into the Fill No Feed alarm (see
Alarms on page 24) and goes into the Fill Alarm state in which the fill auger motor is
stopped (see System States on page 23).
If the AUGER INPUT detects that the day fill motor contactor is off, the system sets the
Fill-Motor alarm (see Alarms on page 24) and also goes into FILL ALARM state.
Batches -Theory of operation
Batch feeding operation;
When a batch is being given, the system first makes an accurate measurement of the day
feed bin weight. The time it takes to make this measurement is set by the Average Time
(see setup on page 17). It then gives a quantity X that is calculated by; X=batch quantity-
Advance Stop in Kg (Lb) (see setup on page 17).
When giving feed to females, the Advance Stop value is regarded as 0.
After giving this amount, the system again makes an accurate measurement of the bin
weight. The way it then continues depends whether the batch is for females or for males.
When the batch is for the females, the system at this point just calculates the Females
Auger Error (see Setup on page 18). This calculated error will be used in the next
female batch to give an accurate amount of feed.
When giving feed to the males, however, the system then continues by giving half
of what is left to give, stops again and measures the weight as explained above. This
process repeats until all the quantity is given. This process is called Feed By Pulses.
The minimum time in quarters of a second which the male‟s auger motor operates is set
by the Min Pulse (see Setup on page 18) parameter.
How all the batches are managed?
When the time of batch comes, the quantity is put in a queue. After one batch is done, the
next batch is taken from the queue and so on, until all batches are done. Doing Stop All
(on page 21) erases the current batch and all batches in the queue.
The day feed bin can be filled on both feed and fast days.
Restrictive feeding doesn‟t work on a fast day.
