DETAILS OF SELECTOR VALVE
VERSION WITH SAND FILTER ONLY
1. Filter: position of valve during normal filtration.
Water is directed into the filter, through the
sand bed and back to the pool.
2. Backwash: position of valve allowing reverse
flow through the filter for cleaning purposes.
Water is pumped into the filter from the
bottom, up through the sand bed to remove
the impurities, and out of the top directly to the
drain .
3. Rinse: position of valve selected following
backwash, to flush the filter bed. Water is
pumped into the filter from the top, down
through the sand bed and out of the bottom
directly to the drain.
4. Waste: position of valve allowing excess water
to drain from the overflow tank. When the
amount of water in the overflow tank has been
swollen by rain, run the filter pump until the
"H O ON" message appears in the display, then

shut off the pump and return the valve to the
"Filter" position. The excess water is diverted
from the pump directly to the drain, without
passing through the filter.
5. Recirculate: position
circulation of a treatment chemical, without
filtration. Water is returned directly to the pool,
without passing through the filter.
6. Closet: position of valve when the ports are
closed. Water does not pass through the filter.
0. During periods when the pool is not in use,
set the selector valve to the intermediate
position indicated by "OFF".
