Approvals
The facepiece in combination with Dräger PSS BG 4/
PSS BG 4 PLUS has been certified by NIOSH in compliance with title
42, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 84. Only combinations that are
approved by NIOSH may be used in the USA (see "NIOSH Approval
Label" on Page 93).
Furthermore, the facepiece is approved according to EN 136:1998
CL.3+, TR CU 019/2011 and (EU) 2016/425. In addition, it meets the
flame engulfment requirements stipulated in EN 137.

Use
Strictly follow OSHA 1910.134 and other valid national regulations for
the use of respiratory equipment.

Install facepiece spectacles if necessary.
●
If fitted, remove protective film from visor.
●
Soak the wiper with the antimisting agent "klar-pilot" fluid. It must
not be actuated when dry.
●
Hold the facepiece ready: Loosen the head harness as far as
possible. Hang the carrying strap (if fitted) round your neck and
button it into the harness connecting piece.
Use instructions for NIOSH-approved full facepieces

Put on the closed-circuit breathing
apparatus and press the plug-in
connector into the equipment
connector until it engages.
●
Put on the facepiece:
●
Unbutton the strap and place chin in recess.
●
Fit straps round head and pull them back until the harness
connecting piece rests smoothly on the face.
●
Position the facepiece:
Tighten the neck straps uniformly
(1).
Tighten the temple straps
uniformly (2).
Tighten the harness connecting
piece as well if the head is fairly
small (3).

Check for leaks:
Tightly compress both breathing hoses and breathe in until a
vacuum is produced. Briefly hold your breath: the vacuum must be
maintained. If it is not, the straps must be tightened further. The
leak test must be repeated twice. The facepiece may only be used
if perfectly tight!
