DESCRIPTION
Thank you for choosing our product! In order to take the most of your Mig welder please read the following instructions
carefully:
M3 GYS AUTO are Synergic MIG-MAG welders. They are recommended for welding steel, stainless steel, aluminium and
for "MIG Brazing" of high-tensile strength steels with CuSi and CuAl wires (ideal for car body repairs). Their adjustment
is easy and fast thanks to its « synergic wire speed » function. They work on a 230V single phase power supply.
POWER SUPPLY
The absorbed current (I1eff) for the maximum use conditions is indicated on the device. Check that the power supply
and its protections (fuse and/or circuit breaker) are compatible with the current required. The device must be placed in
such way that the power socket is always accessible.
- These welding machines are supplied with a 16A RS-015 CEE plug.
- The M3 GYS AUTO 230V has to be connected to a 230V single phase power supply with EARTH and protected with a
16A circuit breaker and 1 differential 30mA.
MACHINE DESCRIPTION (FIG 1 & 2)
1- On / Off switch
2- 6 positions power adjustement knob : to adjust the
welding voltage. The adjustment of the output voltage is
proportional to the thickness of the metal to weld
3- Welding settings adjustement keyboard (manual or
automatic mode)
4- European standard torch connector
5- Spool gun control connector
6- Thermal protection light : informs when a short break
is necessary following intensive use
7- Torch support
8- Power lead (6m)
9- 200A earth clamp
10- Gas bottles support (maximum 2 x 4m³ bottles)
SEMI-AUTOMATIC WELDING FOR STEEL/STAINLESS STEEL (MAG MODE)(FIG 2)
These machines weld 0.6/0.8 and 1.0mm steel and stainless steel wires (fig 2A). The machine is delivered with Ø0.8 mm
steel wire fitted. Using Ø0.6mm wire require to change the contact tip, and ensure that the reversible rollers in the wire
feeder are posititioned correctly (so that the writing stating "0.6mm" is visible once in place). Welding Steel or Stainless
Steel, require using specific gas mix - Argon + CO2 (Ar + CO2). The proportion of CO2 will vary depending on usage.
The gas flow for steel welding is between 8 and 12 L/min depending on the environment and experience of the welder.
For specific requirements, seek advice from your gas distributor.
SEMI-AUTOMATIC WELDING FOR ALUMINIUM (FIG 2)
These welding machines weld 0.8 and 1mm aluminium wires (fig 2B).
To weld aluminium, neutral gas "pure argon" (AR) is required. For choosing gas, ask a gas distributor for advice. The gas
flow for welding aluminium is between 15 and 25 L/min depending on the environment and experience of the welder.
Machine set-up for aluminium welding:
- Set the pressure on the rollers to the minimum to not pinch the wire.
- Remove the capillary tube before connecting the aluminium torch with a teflon liner.
- When welding aluminium use a special aluminium torch with Teflon liner to reduce friction. Do not cut the liner near
the connector! It is used to guide the wire from the rollers. (Fig 2-B )
- Contact Tip: Use a contact tip SPECIAL aluminium corresponding to the diameter of the wire.
SEMI-AUTOMATIC MIG BRAZING FOR HIGH-TENSILE STRENGTH STEELS
These machines are recommended by car manufacturers for MIG Brazing with a cuprosilicium CusI3 wire or cuproaluminium
CuAl8 wire (Ø0.8 mm and Ø1 mm). The welder must use a neutral gas: pure argon (Ar). For specific gas requirements,
seek advice from your gas distributor. The gas flow required is between 15 and 25 L/min.
GAS CONNECTION (FIG 1)
Connect the gas regulator to the gas bottle (regulator not supplied with the machine). For use with one or two gas
bottles.
