Symbol
Meaning
Symbol for use of the mitre saw as a
table saw.
STABILITY OF THE SAW
The table saw MUST BE FIRMLY BOLTED to a stand or
workbench. Additionally, use an auxiliary support if the
table saw tends to lean or move during certain operations
such as cutting long and heavy planks.
LOCATION
Use the table saw in a well lit area on a level surface that
is sufficiently clean and smooth to reduce the risk of trips
and falls. Use where neither the operator nor the casual
observer is forced to be in line with the blade.
RECOIL
Recoil can cause serious injuries.
Recoil occurs when part of the workpiece becomes jammed
between the saw blade and the rip-cut limit guide or other
fixed object. Recoil can also occur if the workpiece becomes
jammed in the blade due to misalignment. During recoil,
the workpiece rises with respect to the table and is thrown
toward the operator. Keep your face and body to one side
of the saw blade, away from the line of a possible recoil.
RECOILS AND THE RESULTING INJURIES CAN USUALLY
BE AVOIDED BY:
Keeping the rip-cut limit guide parallel to the saw blade.
Keeping the saw blade sharp.
Changing or sharpening the antikickback ratchets when
the edges become dull.
Keeping the saw blade guard, the separator and the anti-
kickback ratchets in place and operating properly.
The dividing knife should be aligned with the saw blade and
the ratchets should stop the recoil once this has begun. Check
their operation before carrying out the rip-cut.
Not making a rip-cut on a workpiece that is twisted or
warped or that does not have a straight edge to guide along
the rip-cut limit guide.
Not releasing the workpiece until it has been pushed com-
pletely through the saw blade.
When rip cutting, apply the feed force to the workpiece
section between the saw blade and the rip-cut limit guide.
Use the tappet or a push block where appropriate.
OBSERVE AND FOLLOW THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ON
THE FRONT OF THE TABLE SAW
Antikickback device
In the event of recoil, the antikickback device (also known
as retainers or ratchets) is designed to help prevent the
plank from being thrown towards the user. The sharp teeth
of the ratchets are designed to "catch" the material in the
event of recoil.

3. SAFETY ELEMENTS

3.1 ON/OFF BUTTON

The machine has a push-button switch located on the
handle and a locking button for work with a raised table.
For parting purposes, press the switch button while activating
lever B1 (Fig. 1) so that when pressure is stopped, the machine
comes to an automatic halt. This safety device eliminates the
need for pressing the switch button continually while the
parting process is in progress, thus facilitating your work.
For cutting with the raised table, lock button E1 (Fig. 8)
and press the stop-start buttons on the switch. The button
will unlock automatically when the machine is set as a
parting tool.
The handle is provided with a locking pawl in the OFF position
to prevent the machine from being started by unauthorised
personnel, to do this simply enter a padlock through the
hole Z1 of the lock (Fig. 24 and 8).
3.2 MECHANICAL PROTECTION
When the saw blade is not in use it is totally covered by
the protectors and the machine is locked in this position.
Lever B1 (Fig. 1) releases the machine before it is lowered.
