Moving wire lane, installation of control unit
1. Remove negative terminal from the battery.
2. Remove trunk floor carpet. Remove the tool and the spare wheel. Remove side coverings.
Remove trunk entrance edge cover screen.
3. Fasten the control unit with the velcro strip onto the right rear wheel housing.
4. Remove the welsh plugs behind the right wheel housing from the underbody. Fit the rubber seals
to the wire lane.
5. Insert the socket wire lane with the 12-pin plug into the control unit.
Fit the supplied seal onto the wire lane.
Move the socket end of the wire lane with seal from inside through the duct which has been
created and move it further along the cross brace of the towed-vehicle assembly up to the socket
retaining plate and secure with cable binders; seal the wire duct hole.
Fit the socket seals. Connect the socket according to the terminal connection plan; connect the
inner part with the socket housing and screw it to the rack with the supplied screws.
6. Lay and connect the wire lane that runs to the rear lights, control unit, earth and continuous
positive as follows:
Insert 18-pin plug into the control unit. Move the wire lane with the label on the left underneath the
entrance edge of the trunk to the left rear light. Move the wire lane with the label on the right to the
right rear light.
7. Connect the leads of the wire lane to the rear lights of the vehicle according to the following
diagram with the help of the cutter connectors (indicator wires and rear fog lamp wire on the
vehicle must be separated):
