MICROCHEM
6000-GTS and GTB Limited-use Gas-Tight suits are approved in accordance with Category III of
®
Directive 89/686/EEC and the following European Norms:
EN 943-1: 2002 Protective clothing against liquid and gaseous chemicals, aerosols and solid particles (Type 1a)
EN 943-2: 2002 Protective clothing for Emergency Teams against liquid and gaseous chemicals, aerosols and
solid particles (Type 1a-ET)
The models described in this booklet are approved for use with self-contained open-circuit compressed air breathing
apparatus, worn inside the suit, and are therefore designated Type 1a and Type 1a-ET (for emergency teams).
EC Type approval in accordance with Directive 89/686/EEC issues by SGS Fimko Oy, notified body no. 0598. For contact

if it has not been contaminated or damaged in any way. Before re-storage into the supplied container the suit must be
recertified to EN 464 for internal pressure testing - Follow instructions as detailed on Page 8
In the event of an internal pressure test taking place the record card located in the suit must be completed and
retained within the suit at all times.
In accordance with EN 943-2 the reader is advised that compliance with the performance requirements of this
standard do not infer compliance with standards relating to other hazards e.g. heat and flame.
Storage
Microgard products may be stored according to customary storage practices. It is recommended that the suit is
stored in its original box, in a dry, clean condition, folded in such away so as not to damage the visor with the zip
slightly open (approx. 10cm/4") and fully waxed. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and temperature extremes
beyond the range of -10⁰C to + 60⁰C. If stored correctly and maintained in strict accordance with these instructions,
the projected shelf-life of MICROCHEM
ATTENTION! If storing the protective suit on vehicles or containers abrasion through permanent friction with the
contact surface has to be avoided.
Maintenance
All maintenance work shall be carried out by qualified service engineers or technicians. For information on
approved service centre locations, training seminars and accreditation please contact Microgard Ltd.
All maintenance work carried out must be noted on the record card supplied with each suit. The maintenance
periods specified below refer only to the protective suit ensemble.

attempt to repair the suit should be made by unauthorised persons.
Microgard suits can be incinerated or buried in controlled landfill without harming the environment.
Disposal restrictions depend only upon the contaminant introduced during use. Refer to the ancillary PPE
manufacturers' instructions for information on the safe disposal of their product.
