I. PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Carefully unpack the device, remove all packaging materials and stickers except
the one with the unit's serial number.
The absence of the serial number will deprive you of your warranty benefits.
Wipe all interior and exterior surfaces of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Wash
the bowl with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Odor on first use of
the appliance is normal. In such case, clean the device.
CAUTION! Do not use the appliance in case of any malfunctions.
II. OPERATION
Before Use
Place the device on a flat, stable, and hard surface away from any objects or
cabinets that could be damaged by steam, humidity, or high temperatures.
Before operating, make sure that the outer and inner parts of the multicooker
have no dents, cracks or any other visible damages. There should not be any
obstructions between the heating element and the bowl.
Setting the Cooking Time
Multicooker REDMOND RMC-M4500E allows manually adjusting the cooking
time, set by default for each program. Setting interval and range of cooking
time settings depend on the program of cooking chosen.
1. Select the cooking program. Press "HOUR" button repeatedly to adjust the
hours. Press "MIN" button repeatedly to adjust the minutes. To scroll through

the digits, press and hold the correspond ing button down.
2. To set the cooking time of less than one hour, repeatedly press the "HOUR"
button to zero the hour settings and set the minutes using the "MIN"
button.
3. When the time is set (display keeps blinking), proceed to the next stage,
in accordance with the cooking program chosen. Press "REHEAT/CANCEL"
button to cancel all settings and reset.
IMPORTANT! For your convenience, the cooking time range in all pro grams
starts with the minimum setting, enabling you to prolong the cooking time if
the dish comes out undercooked.
In "STEAM", "SOUP", "PILAF" programs the countdown begins only when the
device reaches its operating temperature. E.g. the countdown of the "STEAM"
program begins only when the water comes to a full boil, providing enough
steam.
Preset Function
Preset function allows setting the program to be finished by certain time. Set-
ting the time of a delay, take the cooking time of the program into consideration.
Time settings range from 1 to 24 hours with 10 minute intervals.
1. Press "MENU" button to select the cooking program.
2. Press "TIMER" button to set the time of a delay. "Timer" indicator lights up
and the timer starts blinking.
3. Use "HOUR" button to set the hours in 24-hour format and "MIN" button
to set the minutes. To scroll through the digits press and hold the corre-
sponding button down.
4. To set the cooking time of less than one hour repeatedly press "HOUR"
button to zero the hour settings and set the minutes using the "MIN"
button.
5. Press "REHEAT/CANCEL" button to cancel the settings and reset.
6. When the time of a delay is set, press "Start" button. Corresponding indica-
tor lights up and the countdown begins. The dish will be ready when the
time set expires.
If the time of a delay is less or equal to the cooking time of the program, the
cooking process will begin right after you press "START".
Preset function is available in all cooking programs except "FRY".
It is not recommended to set Preset function if various dairy and perishable
products are being used (eggs, fresh milk, meat, cheese, etc.).
Setting the Preset function remember that the countdown in "STEAM", "SOUP"
and "BOIL" programs begins only after the device reaches its operating tem-
perature.
Keep Warm Function
Keep Warm function is being activated automatically at the end of the cooking
program. It allows maintaining the temperature of 70–75°C for a period of time
up to 24 hours. "REHEAT/CANCEL" button indicator lights up and Keep Warm
count up is displayed. Press "REHEAT/CANCEL" button to disable the function
(corresponding indicators go off).
Disabling the Keep Warm in advance
Automatic activation of the Keep Warm function at the end of the program may
sometimes be undesirable. REDMOND RMC-M4500E allows disabling the func-
tion in advance. To do so, press "START" button right after the program starts
running or at any point of its operation, Keep Warm function indicator goes off.
To reactivate the function, repress the "START" button, "Keep Warm" indicator
lights up.
Reheat Function
Multicooker REDMOND RMC-M4500E may be used to reheat the cold meal.
1. Fill the bowl with ingredients and place it inside the device.
2. Close the lid until it clicks into place and plug in the unit.
3. Press "REHEAT/CANCEL". Button indicator lights up and the Reheat function
countdown is being displayed.
4. The meal will be warmed up to 70–75°C and the temperature will be
maintained for the next 24 hours.
5. To cancel the function press "REHEAT/CANCEL" (button indica tor goes off).
The function may operate for a period of 24 hours, however, we recom mend
using it moderately, because a prolonged thermal exposure may affect flavor
characteristics or dry out the meal.
Standard Operating Procedure for Automatic Programs
1. Measure the ingredients according to the recipe and put them into the
bowl. Make sure that all the ingredients including liquid are below the
scale mark indicating maximum capacity.
2. Place the bowl inside the device. The bowl and the heating element must
fit tightly.
3. Close the lid until it clicks into place. Plug in the unit.
4. Select the desired cooking program by pressing the "MENU" button (cor-
responding indicator lights up and default time for the program is dis-
played).
5. Use "HOUR" and "MIN" buttons to adjust the time set by default for each
program.
6. Set Preset function if needed.

Press "START". "START" button and "Keep Warm" indicators light up. The
program starts running and its countdown is being displayed. Repress
"START" button to disable the Keep Warm function ("Keep Warm" indicator
goes off).
8. When cooking time expires the device makes an audible sound. Depend-
ing on your settings the device either automatically enters the Keep Warm
("REHEAT/CANCEL" button indicator lights up, count up is displayed), or
the standby mode.
9. To interrupt or to cancel the program or to disable the Keep Warm function
press "REHEAT/CANCEL".
"RICE/GRAIN" Program
This program is recommended for cooking various grains and other side dishes.
Default time is 30 minutes. Manual time settings range from 5 minutes to 1
hour and 30 minutes with 1 minute intervals.
"PILAF" Program
This program is recommended for cooking various types of rice dishes. Default
time is 60 minutes. Manual time settings range from 5 minutes to 2 hours with
5 minute intervals.
"STEAM" Program
This program is recommended for steaming or boiling vegetables, fish, meat
and baby food. Default time is 30 minutes. Manual time settings range from 10
minutes to 2 hours with 5 minute intervals. Count down of the program begins
only when the water comes to a full boil.
Use the steaming container provided to steam:
1. Pour 600–1000 ml of water into the bowl. Place the steaming con tainer in.
2. Measure the ingredients following the recipe provided and put them into
the container. Install the steaming container inside the bowl. Make sure
that the bowl and the heating element fit tightly.
3. Follow recommendations given in the "Standard operating procedure for
automatic programs".
If you choose to adjust the time of the program set by default, follow recom-
mendations given in the Table of Recommended Steaming Time for Various
Products (p. 10).
"SOUP" Program
This program is recommended for cooking various soups, broths, stews and
drinks. Default time is 60 minutes. Manual time settings range from 20 minutes
to 8 hours with 5 minute intervals. The countdown of the program begins only
when the device reaches its operating temperature.
