NB:
The lifting system is not guaranteed to work properly if these VERY IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS are not
followed. Serious accidents can lead to injuries, even fatalities.
General user instructions
• Lifting operations must be done by competent persons only.
• Use of the round slings and lifting straps for any purpose other than a lifting operation is forbidden.
1.4
• Use in chemical environments, like acid or alkaline solutions for example, must be avoided!
• Use of the round slings and lifting straps is only authorised within certain temperature ranges: PES/PA
2.8
from -30° C to +100° C, PP from -30° C to +80° C.
4.2
• Remove from service all round slings and lifting straps with illegible or missing labels. Lack of safety
instructions can lead to incorrect use.
5.6
• The round slings and lifting straps must not be stretched over sharp angles or sharp edges because
they could be cut.
7.0
• Opening the strap loop to an angle of over 20º is strictly forbidden.
8.4
Remove the sling from service in the event of:
11.2
• Localised deterioration of the strap, other than general wear
• Transversal or longitudinal cut, damage to edges by cutting or heating, cutting of seams or buckles
14.0
• Cutting of the sling sheath revealing the carrying threads
• Chemical attack causing the material to weaken or soften (indicated by a flaking of the surface of the
16.8
sheath, torn off or removed by rubbing)
• Damage due to heat or friction, indicated by the glossy appearance of the fibres
• Deformation of the end accessory
• Absence of identification plate or label
• Sun-sensitive textile slings can be damaged by ultra-violet rays and therefore be weakened without
altering their appearance; be careful with slings often exposed to sunlight.
HANDLING / LIFTING THE LOAD
• Before handling, identify the route and set-down point,; clear gangways;
• Make sure that no tool or object has been left on the load and that it will not "fly over" anyone when
1,000 kg
travelling!
2,000 kg
• Check that the rise, fall and transfer of the load will be done freely and safely.
• During the operation, the sling operator-driver must be positioned so as to accompany the load. He
3,000 kg
mustn't move backwards!
• If the device is driven by another operator, the sling operator informs the driver what movements he
4,000 kg
must execute: he must move within the driver's field of vision at all times; communication can be
done with a suitable sound system or by command gestures that both of them perfectly understand.
5,000 kg
• The load must be lifted vertically (pulling it at an oblique angle is dangerous!) , it must be moved at
6,000 kg
a moderate pace and without stops and starts, staying close to the ground, high enough above it to
avoid obstacles and avoiding swaying the load!
8,000 kg
• No worker must be under the load and the load must never be passed over the heads of staff.
• If you have to stop the operation, don't leave the load hanging: always set it down;
10,000 kg
• The load must be set down after stopping the horizontal movement and without it swaying; on suffi-
ciently solid ground (avoid covers, trap doors, gutters, fragile structures);
• Swaying the load to place it beyond the device's scope of action is forbidden;
• If necessary, set the load down on chocks in order to remove the slings or to support the load where
necessary.
