Proceed in the following way to change the blades:
- Park the tractor on a flat surface with the machine hitched, then
raise the machine with the power lift;
- Insert two strong bearing stands at the sides of the machine;
- Lower the machine on to the stands, turn off the tractor engine
and apply the parking brake.
If blades must be changed, make sure that the new ones are
mounted in the same positions as the old ones.

DANGER
If the tines clog, it is strictly forbidden to attempt to clean the
machine whilst it is operating. First disengage the PTO, stop
the tractor and engage the parking brake.
Wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stand-
still, then proceed with the cleaning operations with the ut-
most care.

4.9 GEARBOX

The tine rotors can spin at various speeds, depending on the gear
pairs mounted in the gearbox. It also allows the soil to be broken
up to various degrees depending on its nature, the amount of
moisture it contains, the ground speed, etc.
Only use the pairs indicated in the table

The faster the rotors spin, the more the soil is crumbled, but trac-
tor power draw and blade wear will also be greater.
You are advised to use the lowest rotation speed able to work the
soil in the required way.
Carry out these simple operations in both gearboxes to vary the

speed of the rotors:
- Remove the screws that fix the rear cover of the gearbox (5 Fig.
1) and take off the cover. Take care, as oil could spill out.
- Remove the gears from the shafts.
- Fit the required pairs of gears on to the shafts.
- Fit back the cover and re-tighten the screws.
Make sure you use the right gears as gears of different pairs can-
not be mounted.

4.10 REAR BAR

To level and crumble the soil to a greater degree, the harrow has
12.9
a levelling bar positioned behind the tines. It can be adjusted in
44
height by means of crank screws (6 Fig. 1).
88
It is advisable to start work with the bar in the upper position and
153
to then adjust it to the required setting.
Make the adjustments by keeping the bar at the same distance
241
from the soil as far as possible.
361
Avoid using the bar at depth as it could be damaged.

Whenever the position of the rear roller must be changed, adjust
727
again in order to skim over the ground.

4.11 REAR ROLLERS

The machine can be equipped with various types of roller. The
main ones are: Packer roller, Cage roller, Spiked roller.
Packer roller:
- This is used to crumble the soil worked by the tines to a further
degree and to guarantee a compact surface, optimum for seed-
ing. It has a bearing effect if the seed drill is mounted in a com-
bined configuration. It is excellent for dry and hard soil.
Cage roller:
- This is used for soil of medium consistency and when the de-
gree of humidity is low. It prepares the soil for seeding but does
not compact the surface.
Spiked roller:
- This is used for damp, clayey soils and in difficult situations. It
does not compact the soil but levels it at the rear of the ma-
chine.

4.12 STOPPING THE MACHINE

At the end of the job, the operator must:
B
- Disengage the tractor PTO.
- Lower the machine to the ground by means of the power lift.
- Stop the tractor and engage the parking brake.
- Make sure that all parts of the machine are at a standstill.
Only after the above mentioned operations have been carried out
may the operator leave the tractor unattended.

4.12.1 PARKING

- At the end of the job, the machine must be parked on a flat,
suitable surface.
- Stop the tractor and apply the parking brake.
- With the tractor stopped and all components at a complete stand-
still, remove the driveline from the PTO of the tractor.
- Unhitched the machine from the tractor.
The place in which the machine is parked must be:
- Dry.
- Sheltered from adverse weather conditions.
- Guarded or locked up to prevent children or unauthorized
persons from freely accessing the machine.
