diaphragm with the gasket towards the connector (see table 5
for replacing intervals).

3.3.4 Replacing the Lens

Remove cover and door, loosen screws on lens ring, remove
both lens ring halves and then take out lens. Prior to fitting the
new lens, assure that the groove of the faceblank is completely
clean.
3.3.5 Maintenance of the Plug-in Connector
The O-ring (red) in the connector must be checked for damage
prior to each use. Intact O-rings are lightly lubricated with Par-
ker O-Lube, or similar. Damaged O-rings must be replaced
immediately. The applies also to the O-ring (black) in the thread
outlet of the connector (see Sect. 5, Gasket replacement, for
intervals).

Leak Test
The leak test of the mask is performed with the MSA AUER Leak
Test Kit and the Leak Cap Elite after the inhalation and exhalation
valves are sealed according to the relative instructions for use.
The mask is considered tight if at a positive pressure or a nega-
tive pressure of 7.5 mbar inside the facepiece the pressure
change after one minute does not exceed 0.5 mbar.
The exhalation valve is also tested with the MSA AUER Leak Test
Kit for Full Face Masks with sealed inhalation valve, observing
the relative instructions for use. The exhalation valve meets the
requirements if with a moistened exhalation valve and a negative
pressure of 10 mbar inside the facepiece the pressure change
after one minute does not exceed 1 mbar.
5
Intervals
The maintenance intervals are recommended by MSA AUER.
Applicable national regulations must be observed. If required,
the local conditions during use must be considered for the work
to be performed. In case of doubt, the local MSA AUER repre-
sentative should be consulted and the applicable national regu-
lations be checked.

1) Facepieces which are regularly used should be cleaned and disinfected
as often as required. They should be cleaned as soon as possible after
each use because perspiration or saliva that dries unto the valves could
cause malfunctions. The mask must be disinfected at least before it is
used by another person.

Storage
The mask should be stored in a carrier.
In order to prevent damage or distortion of the mask, no addi-
tional objects must be stored in the carrier. Storage must be
in clean, dry and normal climate, i. e. cool, dry and free from
hazardous material, protected against light and radiant heat. It is
recommended to observe German Standard DIN 7716: 1982
and ISO 2230: 1973.
