INSTALLATION INSTRuCTIONS
2. Faucet Location Selection continued
NOTE: The drinking water faucet should be positioned with
function, convenience and appearance in mind. An adequate flat
area is required to allow the faucet base to rest securely. The faucet
fits through a 1/2-inch hole. Most sinks have pre-drilled 1
1
-inch diameter holes that accommodate this system's faucet. If a
1
2
pre-drilled hole is not available, it will be necessary to drill a 1/2-inch
hole into the sink (Figure 2).
A)
Line the bottom of the sink with newspaper to prevent debris,
parts or tools from falling into drain or disposal.
B)
Place masking tape over area to be drilled to help prevent
scratches if drill bit slips.
C)
Mark hole with a center punch. Use a 1/4-inch drill bit to drill the
pilot hole.
D)
Using 1/2-inch drill bit, drill a hole completely through the sink.
E)
Smooth rough edges with a file and remove masking tape.
3. Mount the Faucet
A)
Use small parts bag from faucet bag.
B)
Insert small black washer, metal escutcheon plate and large black
rubber washer on threaded stem of faucet.
C)
Insert faucet stem into hole in sink or countertop.
D)
From under the sink, slide the black plastic locating washer, lock
washer and lock nut onto threaded stem of faucet.
E)
Hand-tighten nut and recheck position of faucet on sink. Tighten
nut with wrench until faucet is secure. Do not over-tighten lock
nut. Hint: Have someone hold faucet in desired position on top of
sink while tightening the nut.
4. Mount the System
CAUTION
The system should be mounted on a firm, solid surface that
is able to support the weight of the system. The use of wall anchors is
recommended.
NOTE: Select location under sink or in basement where the system is
to be mounted.
NOTE: The system can be mounted vertically (Figure 4A) or
horizontally (Figure 4B). Dimensions in both diagrams allow for
cartridge removal or system removal.
A)

Vertical installation

requires a minimum space of 12 inches wide
by 20.25 inches high. Ensure that the mounting bracket is level
and the bracket tabs angle away from the mounting surface.
B)

Horizontal installation

wide by 12.5 inches high. Ensure that the mounting bracket is
level and the bracket tabs angle away from the mounting surface.
C)
Use the 3/32-inch drill bit to create pilot holes for the mounting
bracket. If using wall anchors, use the size drill bit recommend by
the wall anchor manufacturer.
D)
Using wall anchors or supplied screws, attach the bracket to the
wall with tabs facing upward.
E)
Slide the unit down so the bracket slides into the slot on the
back of the unit. The unit should fit snugly on the bracket; if not,
reposition the unit until a snug fit is obtained.
