INSTALLATION INSTRuCTIONS
5. Connect the System to Faucet
CAUTION
Do not bend or kink tube when inserting.
A)
Determine the length of plastic tubing needed to connect the
outlet (right) side of the filter with the faucet. Be sure to allow
enough tubing to prevent kinking and cut the tubing squarely.
Slide compression nut and ferrule over the tubing. Slide the tubing
insert into the tube. Push tube into the bottom of the faucet stem.
Slide the compression nut up and tighten until slight resistance is
felt. Then tighten with a wrench 1
NOTE: Do not over-tighten the compression nut. Tighten further only
if leaks appear after putting the system into operation.
B)
Use a marker to mark 5/8 inch from remaining end of the tubing.
Wet the end of the tube. Insert the end into the white collar
fitting on the outlet (right) side of the system. The tube should go
in up to the mark.
NOTE: Routine maintenance and cartridge changes will not require
you to disconnect the tubing from the filter system; however, tubing
may be quickly and easily removed from the fitting if necessary. First
turn off water supply to unit. Open the faucet, then press in the collar
around the tubing while pulling the tubing with your other hand.
6. Connect the Supply Adapter
CAUTION
Do not bend or kink tube when inserting.
NOTE: Ensure that all tubing ends are fully pushed past the o-rings
on the system inlet/outlet and inlet adapter fittings.
A)
Determine the length of plastic tubing needed to connect the inlet
(left) side of the filter with the inlet supply adapter installed on the
cold water supply line. Be sure to allow enough tubing to prevent
kinking and cut the tubing squarely. Place a mark 5/8 inch from
one end of the tubing. Wet the end of the tubing. Insert the end
of the tubing into the 1/4-inch fitting of the inlet supply adapter.
The 5/8-inch mark should be flush with the white collar of the
fitting located on the inlet supply adapter.
B)
Use a marker to mark 5/8 inch from remaining end of the tubing.
Wet the end of the tube. Insert the end into the white collar
fitting on the inlet side (left) of the system. The tube should go in
up to the mark.
