INSTALLATION: CONDENSATE DRAIN
3 cm/m
3 cm/m
MIN Ø 30 mm
The drain system must feature a suitable drain trap in order to:
▪ Ensure free drainage of condensate.
▪ Prevent unwanted intake of air in systems working at negative pressure.
▪ Prevent unwanted outlet of air in pressurised systems.
▪ Prevent bad odours or insects from entering.

▪ The water piping should be suitably insulated so as to avoid dripping
during operation in cooling mode.
▪ The condensate drain line must be suitably sized and the piping laid so
that there is a suitable incline (min. 3%) along the entire line, without
rising sections or choking, to ensure correct drainage.
▪ A drain trap should be installed on the condensate drain line.
▪ The condensate drain should be connected to the rainwater drainage
system.
▪ Do not connect to the sewerage system, so as to prevent bad odours
potentially entering the air-conditioned spaces if the water in the drain
trap evaporates.
NOTE: The drain trap must be fitted with a plug at the bottom or must be
able to be easily disassembled for cleaning. The following rules must be
applied for sizing and installing drain traps.
